ManuelDiom Posted August 7, 2011 at 09:08 PM Posted August 7, 2011 at 09:08 PM It was announced this sunday that season 8 of Desperate Housewives will be the last. Creator Marc Cherry, who also appeared before critics, was a struggling comedy writer who'd worked on The Golden Girls but hadn't had much success until he sold Housewives to the network. He says "the only thing harder than creating a hit show is knowing when to end it," adding he's "very aware of shows that overstay their welcome...and I just didn't want that to happen. We wanted the show to go out as a still viable and when ratings still strong." And by planning ahead, "we can have a whole year to reflect on how lucky we've been." read the article HERE! What are your thoughts on the way Desperate Housewives has changed television history? What are your favorite moments from D.H.? I'm sure we will all miss the ladies from Wisteria Lane Quote "Remember the name because you will never forget the voice!"-René Angélilhttp://29.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lq1j1nLPSG1qhpqobo3_500.jpg"Celine, without question IS the greatest singer in the world"-Tommy MottolaMy Celine blog on Tumblr

idroveallnight Posted August 9, 2011 at 12:11 AM Posted August 9, 2011 at 12:11 AM I was gutted when I heard this. This is worse than Brothers & Sisters being cancelled. All 7 seasons were truly exceptional. There was never a dull moment. They're destined to go out with a bang for the 8th season but they could have easily kept going until 10. Their ratings were always in the top 10. What is wrong with ABC and cancelling all these great shows? Dirty Sexy Money, Big Shots, Better With You, Cashmere Mafia, The Deep End, Brothers & Sisters, Pushing Dasies...all awesome shows, all gone with the wind. Quote
Jacqui Posted August 9, 2011 at 10:12 AM Posted August 9, 2011 at 10:12 AM Hmm... as much as it will be sad to see it end, I think they're right that it needs to not overstay its welcome. There is literally nothing that has not already happened on that show! And watching Season 7 I was starting to feel like they were running out of ideas. Splitting up Lynette and Tom was kind of the last straw for me.. they were the only couple that never split up, it kind of feels like nothing is sacred now haha. They shouldn't have done that Quote

Someone said on tumblr that if it wasn't for D.H. all those real housewives shows, greys anatomy, etc. Would have flopped... GoldenLeaf Posted May 7, 2012 at 05:54 PM Posted May 7, 2012 at 05:54 PM Fianal episode on May 13!!! I can't believe this serie is almost over. As someone pointed out here the show could have easily keep going until season 10. Trully an awesome serie. Quote
Edwin Posted May 22, 2012 at 04:45 AM Posted May 22, 2012 at 04:45 AM I expected many things from the finale but ended up feeling disappointed. Ive loved and watched DHW from the beginning but it should have ended last year as Marc Cherry originally planned. What did we get this year, Julie pregnant with Porters kid, really?? And did anyone really think Bree would be found guilty. It was definitely a breath of fesh air and brought something new to the table originally but it was time to EOL it. Quote
