marc-02 Posted July 16, 2011 at 05:36 AM Posted July 16, 2011 at 05:36 AM 19. Celine Dion Dion is the artist on this list that made the most recent first appearance on the AC chart, having arrived with the No. 2-peaking "Where Does My Heart Beat Now" in October 1990. Her 87 weeks combined spent at No. 1 mark the highest total among all artists and her 11 No. 1s are tied for fourth-most in the chart's archives. http://www.billboard.com/#/features/the-50...22.story?page=4 =========== 80 IF YOU ASKED ME TO Celine Dion (1992) As the youngest of 14 children, Dion has long since figured out how to get attention. She's fought her way to the upper echelon of AC divas with 11 No. 1s. "If You Asked Me To," first a No. 11 AC hit for Patti LaBelle in 1989, was Dion's first format leader, and the first of her three AC No. 1s written by songwriting icon Diane Warren; follow-up "Nothing But My Broken Heart" reigned later in 1992 and "Because You Loved Me" ruled in 1996. http://www.billboard.com/#/column/chartbea...52.story?page=2 Quote

wjd Posted July 16, 2011 at 10:14 AM Posted July 16, 2011 at 10:14 AM Billboard use an inverse points system, that benefits songs with longer chart runs than time spent at the top - Because You Loved Me, My Heart Will Go On & A New Day Has Come spent combined 50 weeks at the top of the AC chart, not one of them features in the list though higher than If You Asked Me To. Its silly. If it credited each act how they should be, Celine would be much higher. If it looked at just the last 20 years, Celine would be #1. Quote Céline Dion, music's greatest ever singer, the biggest-selling Canadian artist of all-time and most successful female live act ever - what's not to love?
Prince Whiskers Posted July 16, 2011 at 05:11 PM Posted July 16, 2011 at 05:11 PM IYAMT as her biggest AC hit?! No one's stupid enough to believe that. And she should be in the top 10-15. Quote http://cdn.webecoist.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/modern-pet-solo-blown-glass.jpg

I Love You Posted July 16, 2011 at 06:33 PM Posted July 16, 2011 at 06:33 PM This is dumb, she should be int top ten. What a bunch of Bull. Quote
duri Posted July 16, 2011 at 06:38 PM Posted July 16, 2011 at 06:38 PM As it´s best AC charts EVER, Céline position after 20 years in american music industry is not so bad, if we compare with artist which are 40 years in bussiness, but of course she should be TOP10 or at least TOP 15, but older songs and older interprets have bigger chance. Sofie Posted July 16, 2011 at 07:05 PM Posted July 16, 2011 at 07:05 PM What's up with that list? You would expect that someone with a total of 87 weeks at the no. 1 spot should be higher on this list but what do I know... Quote
genbidi1 Posted July 16, 2011 at 11:17 PM Posted July 16, 2011 at 11:17 PM Celine should be number 1 but, its greats shes in the top 20s. Quote GENNI B.
marc-02 Posted July 17, 2011 at 04:52 AM Author Posted July 17, 2011 at 04:52 AM i also expected either BYLM or ANDHC to be there somewhere too... but oh well... IYAMT as her biggest AC hit of all time?.... Quote

divaceline Posted July 17, 2011 at 10:41 PM Posted July 17, 2011 at 10:41 PM yes, i was appalled when i went through these charts. i had to look twice for bylm, andhc, and mhwgo. did i miss them? they weren't even there. and she should definitely be higher considering she has the most weeks at no. 1. wjd Posted July 18, 2011 at 03:35 PM Posted July 18, 2011 at 03:35 PM For god's sake, will you people please read the posts before yours, and maybe you'll find the answer to your questions. PopMusicBoy Posted July 20, 2011 at 02:10 PM Posted July 20, 2011 at 02:10 PM (edited) I'm surprised that of all her hits, "If You Asked me To" is the one that makes the all-time. Granted it was her first #1 on the format, but these kind of lists tend to surprise me all the time. "A New Day has Come" and "Because You Loved Me" both broke the longevity record for most weeks at #1, yet neither one is listed and both songs lasted over a year on the chart.
