Then You Look At Me

I am quite sure there is nothing wrong with her memory. Of course she remembers recording that song, I think she remembers most of the songs she records.

I am also sure she still wants to do things for the fans, her team may not. She may be just as incensed as you guys about some of the choices they make for her. If I were her, I'd be mad that they suddenly told me I could no longer sing In Some Small Way anymore. Like, who are they?

I'd love to see this song performed, and I am still under the persuasion that there's a darn good reason it ain't happening. I wish it would, but if it's meant to, she will find a way to fight for it. I believe with all my heart that she still loves us and would do anything she could for us!

Well, I don't see it otherwise because the videoclip of the song EXPLICITLY shows that the song is a promotion for Air Canada; the airplanes and the 2 lovers to spice it a little bit. Now I don't know if it was meant to be more than that; I never saw Celine perform the song on ANY shows in ANY country; if it was a radio-single or a promo single, I don't think it was meant to be that big as some of you may see it...

 

Plus, the song was included in My Love European Version as stated according to wikipedia (someone said it wasn't I'm replying)

 

Finally, I saw the charts, and the song failed to chart on the hot 100 billboard it went to number 16; the only place that the song went number one was in Canada; so that concludes the arguing about how big was the song; it was a failure in the world except in Canada.

 

Just FYI, I do like the song; however, I'm stating the evidence!

 

If you aren't going to bother quoting me correctly or reading my posts completely then I have no desire to respond any further to your comments.

I wrote to Rene and Celine's team about adding "Then You Look At Me" to "A New Day..." some years ago. However, since I was probably the only person who did so, nothing ever came of it. It's going to take a heck of a lot more than fans just wishing and wanting and willing something to happen online for that song to get added. We all need to write letters (yes, letters...those things people used to do before the Internet) to Rene, Ken and Caesars Palace requesting that song be added. Oh, and by "we" I mean more than just 10-20 members. I'm talking about hundreds, if not thousands of members from CDF. Without that happening, the song has no chance of being added or ever performed live. Period.

I could see that being a possibility. I guess I just wish Celine, Rene and/or her team would at least make an acknowledgment of the song to her fans since it seems to be the one song of her entire catalogue that her fans wish for her to sing. Heck, I'd even be fine with her only doing a 30 second, a capella version video for TeamCeline members. At least then I'd/we'd know she was doing something as "a nod" to the song for her fans.

I've always thought of TYLAM as a marathon of high notes one after the other; I listen to it occasionally but you cannot replay it because it's too much to handle to one's ears; I can compare it to "Alone"; it has huge high notes that are available in the song just for Celine to flaunt her vocal ability. Other songs like TPOL, IACBTMN,TR have a good mixture of high/low notes that make the listener at ease when hearing the song; whereas Alone and TYLAM have a constant stream of high notes which makes the listener annoyed at the end of the song Edited July 3, 2011 at 10:40 PM by RomualdlovesCeline

......as boring as this show is vocally, I think ONE hard song isn't to much to ask for.

 

Each song on the Taking Chances tour setlist had some sort of high note in it...even if it's something as small as the sustained notes in I'm Your Angel, or the note in My Love, or the ending in Shadow Of Love, the note in Alone, Because You Loved Me, The Prayer, the notes in Fade Away...even the parts of Taking Chances that were live were fairly difficult. Of course songs like The Show Must Go On, It's A Man's World, River Deep Mountain High....those were the most difficult songs of the show, yet they were live.

 

Now what do we have?? We still have Because You Loved Me, which isn't much....but all those other songs are gone, except River Deep Mountain High, which has become just as sloppy as LCMM. She is dodging high notes in that left and right, and its shortened. It's a borefest these days as well.

 

If it weren't for the improved ending she has been giving us in ABM, then there wouldn't be anything to look forward to in terms of vocals...With the setlist full of non-vocal songs that don't even reach the 5th octave, I wouldn't think it would be to much for her to sing "Then You Look At Me" live.

 

But it would have to be live. Adding a random song that doesn't NEED to be in the show, only for the sake of lipping it, is pointless. This is what we already have with Man In the Mirror, Ben, The Reason, and Goldfinger....I don't want TYLAM to get the same treatment.
