Elton John: Official Topic

Elton John is returning to Caesars Palace starting September 28th for a 3 year gig with his new upcoming show "The Million $ Piano." The show is set to include audience participation. Plus, talks of Shania Twain coming on board are getting stronger as each month passes. It looks like the "free time" The Colosseum has between Celine's performances is going to be eaten up very soon. If anybody was hoping for additional shows to be added, I'm afraid you may be out of luck.

Thought he hates Vegas and want to get out of there as soon as possible. Surprised he will go back again. Well, nobody can say no to money.

I think after it was over and he hit the road again and had to travel, he came to his senses and realized that in CP he can put on a great show, travel less and have some of the best sound in the world. I wish Celine would have allowed fan participation in the set-list, and i side note: Shania Twain is amazing, im glad of her return to music, and i hope CP sings her

I was so excited to find out EJ is coming back to Caesar's. I saw him in Vegas last time and the show was great. I hope he changes the set list up a bit from his usual...(on a side note about previous comments, I thought I saw an article where Shania was no longer comfortable singing in front of people so I wonder how she'd consider Vegas...)

Performing at The Colosseum would actually be a great way of "easing back into the saddle." The arena only holds about 4,300 spectators as opposed to the tens of thousands that many large venues such as Staples old. After a year or two of "getting back into the swing of things," I'm sure we'll see the new album get released (if not in conjunction with the new show) and then Shania will announce a tour.

Anyway, back to Elton...I really wish I had been able to see "The Red Piano" when it was playing. I guess I'll have to opt for buying the DVD. I'm looking forward to seeing what kind of audience participation he's going to do (aside from bringing spectators onstage to sing with him).

When Elton John released the song, Your Song, did people already knew his preference? and was that song for a guy he loves?

Hi, guys! I've got a question. Last night I was listening to 'Blues Never Fade Away'. Once I heard the story of this great song but wasn't really that interested in it back then. So... Do we know the people he refers to in the song? Who are they? Well, obviously, John Lennon is one of them and, as far as I remember, Gianni Versace is among those people, too. But he refers to 2 more people. Do we know who they are?

Elton did a documentary when the album came out and talked about Blues Never Fade Away.

The first verse refers to a friend of his and Bernie's who owned a restaurant in L.A. and was one of the first people to get AIDS

"He wasn't famous but I sure did love him

I got his picture in a little frame

He lost his life to a big disease

Before it even had a name"

The second verse refers to a young female friend of Bernie's who had a brain aneurysm in a store on Hollywood Blvd

"She was twenty-one with her life ahead

You don't need to know her name

She breathed her last on the cold stone floor

Of a Hollywood arcade"

The third verse refers to Elton's good friend Giani Versace

"He shone so bright with a lust for life

Like the Sun King that he was

His passions hung upon his walls

And were printed on to cloth"
