Hi Celine fans! A new People Magazine special just came out this past week and is called People's 1,000 Greatest Moments in Pop Culture. It is all about honoring the most unforgettable moments that defined American Pop Culture in the last 37 years (1974, the year People magazine started to 2011). Guess who was deservingly in it? That right, Celine!!

 

My Heart Will Go On was named one of the 1,000 most unforgettable moments in American Pop Culture!

 

People magazine is a respectable magazine not focusing on gossip and is read by an average of about 4 million readers per week, so along with My Heart Will Go On's other amazing honors, this is a big deal and exciting!

 

Celine's biggest hit was in the 90's section of the new book, and was named for being a ubiquitous hit, or for existing or being everywhere in the late 90's!

 

So happy My Heart Will Go On ( much more than just "that Titanic song" ) is still being recognized and getting proper credit years after it's release, the song definately has staying power! :clap:

I agree, I would love to see it named the #1 Greatest Moment, it is my favorite song of all time, but People didn't rank the moments, the special goes through 37 years and picks out the top 1,000 moments, so this was exciting to have My Heart Will Go On in the 1,000 moments!

 

Also, I forgot to say that Titanic was also named as one of the Greatest Moments too in the 90's section for becoming the highest grossing movie of all time, now #2 and grossing about 2 Billion dollars around the world! Celine was included in the closing credits, the soundtrack, had the movie song, and was even pulled up by James Cameron on stage in 1999 when Titanic won the People's Choice Award for favorite movie of the year because he gives her credit for all of Titanic's major success! So Celine was a big part of the Titanic moment and in a way was honored twice!

I meant to say that James Cameron gave Celine credit for some of Titanic's success, not all of it, sorry

Amazing news. Celine should have been number 1, in best Pop culture. But it is great that the song and Celine got mention. :yes:

MHWGO is absolutly one of greatest moment in Pop culture, so it´s great they named it as one of top 1000.
