Well. I don't know if this topic exists already. I've searched but didn't find anything related to this, so here we are.

 

This topic is for all the people talking about Celine's career. All the things that are being said in other topics, let's put them all here. This way, we can all discuss about this on one topic and not on every single topic existing .

I think Celine is happy with her career and with her life, the only thing she has never done is to act in some movie, something that i would love to see and i comment this because she says she wants to act. So if Celine is happy, i think that anything that we could say isn't relevant.

 

I know that Celine says that if we still enjoy her music she is happy, and that's something that will never change, so i think we should let her be herself and just enjoy her voice because everybody would want different things.

 

Let's just love her.

That's the same thing that's happening in the other topics, and that's the reason why I've created this one. You know, to let the other topics free of this comments that have nothing to do with them .

Exactly !! That's what I've been saying everywhere I could. If she wants to do something, let her do it !!!

 

Some people say that she is doing ONLY what René wants her to do and not what she wants. Some others have even said that she and her team never knew what to do with her career !!! And some others say they MUST ask us about what kind of songs should she sing, or where she should perform at, or when should she record a new album...

I think her career is amazing, and I would love to have a career like hers. She deserves to do everything she wants, cause has the talent to do so. And because she's an amazing lady, an amazing human being.

If we push her in a certain direction we may push her into a corner where she's not free to musicially and emotionally develop the way she wants to. In the end no one knows what's best for her better than herself so let her explore everything she always wanted to do but be satisfied if she goes on with the same kind of music she has done before.

Exactly !!! Well said... That's what I've been trying to explain to some people that's always asking more and more and more thinking only on themselves... We can have wishes and opinions and stuff, but we need to also think on what Celine desires and on what she feels like doing.

She started off poor, ended up rich, and worked her #ss off for everything that she has. She's one of the most highly paid, admired and talented entertainers of my lifetime.

 

I think she'll be remembered for her contributions to Francophone music, movie soundtracks, the evolution of big voiced females and the key figure in the resurgence of Las Vegas residencies as a viable career move. She is incredible

I kind of agree with you but I don't think it is selfish if we ask for a change. I don't want next tour be filled with the same oldies again. Oh I sure will be visiting that concert if it comes but hope she surprises with something fresh then. Things are done like they are because it is safe and they know the regular audience likes those songs. I agree not the whole world spins around us. But we once became fans of her music. at least what made me buy her cds etc and I do care about her career too, and I am not the only one.

And we are not so much off topic since this is a reaction on her latest interview that brought us some news about the album. a little bit though.

And yes I am dissapointed having read that interview.

 

I understand what you say, and I too care for her career... But I don't say "she should do this cause this is the best for her" since there's no way to know that for sure... And if you ask for a change, you are being selfish (wich doesn't mean you're a bad guy, don't take me wrong) since you thought those changes according to what you would like to see or hear You're not thinking in all the fans that haven't seen her live or those who likes those songs more than any other she has... She can always have those hits on her shows and at the same time, surprise you with something new and fresh... BTW, I don't understand your dissapointment with the interview, since you said there was nothing new Maybe this interview wasn't made "completely" on the date it was printed I actually think it's a mix between new answers and old interviews

haha well it very well might be.. what I meant about the interview is that it again focuses on children, the climate, how good Vegas is for her voice etc. and sooooo less about the new album. Not just because she should be in charts again, since now everybody cares for Beyonce and other r&b clones. I enjoy the interviews about her family life. I would love to hear more back stage, background information about her daily life. The thing that gets to me is her talking about the babies not sleeping all night. THat is ridiculous. They are 14 mo old. I had 6 children. Everyone of them was sleeping through the night by the time they were 2-3 months old. She has trained her twins to be awake all night by catering to them. I know it is petty to gripe about that, but it is a very simple solution. Don't get up with them. It will take 1-3 nights and they will sleep all night. They don't want to be awake if noone is up with them! And they will be more rested.

I think she and her team always did things the right way (they can't please everybody); they promoted every single album with decent promotional tours except One Heart in 2003 because she was too busy with the beginning of A New Day.... Her tours and shows in Las Vegas have always been great and amazing, with stunning visual effects and always full of fans (sold out every night since 2003). She might even play a role in a major movie in the future.

 

Honestly, I believe Celine's career is a dream for any singer. She might not perform commercial pop-songs nor R&B, but she has always been loyal to her own music style, experiencing new things in albums like One Heart and Taking Chances, which is great; performers need to re-invent themselves.

Agreed. Celine is the only one (out of the the ''big three'') who can still sell out concerts and still have decent and stable albums sales.

I might be the only one here but I do Not at all she is slowly retiring. I think she might be taking a more leisurely pace than we are used to, but she is doing an absolutely beautiful job at balancing, one foot in the music door, and one foot very stable and groundee in the family she once thought might be impossible to have. I'm just thankful she even has a toe in this industry still!

Just another thought. Why many young people think that singers like Mariah or J Lo are cool but when they hear about Celine, they're like 'No, thanks'? She's just the one with the boring ballads their mothers listen to. This is sad.

And what's the problem? Each singer has his/her own style and I personally don't want Celine to change her style so that young and inmature people like her. No thanks.
