I love that blog, I find it hard to believe that Celine would mind at all. She, would probably think it was funny.

I think she knows this place exists NOW, but she didn't for a very long time. I think I remember reading once that she's not really an internet person.

I mean Celine invited Ana Gasteyer to do her Celine parody from SNL on stage during one of her concerts for chrissake. She'd probably love that blog. Yeah, this is fishy.

There are already news articles about the shutdown of the site.

I guess we'll find out if it is indeed fake soon enough. Unfortunately, this does not help her image. :down:

I've gotten a TON of Google Alerts about this today. I agree- it makes her look like she doesnt have a sense of humour or diva-ish when we know thats not the case at all.

Hopefully the press won't make a big deal out of it. I do think it was a mistake from her team to shut down the blog since I don't think many people knew about it. This whole thing is really strange.

To me it seems like something suspicious is going on, out of all the Celine Dan sites, forums, blogs etc out there she suddenly finds that one and has it shut down. Seems fishy to me :hmm:

When i got the google alerts about this today i was like Wtf?! How did she find that... Someone has obviously been searching about Celine on the net and came across it and told her about it! I just didnt get why she shut it down im confused :confused:

I loved that blog.

Even the blogger himself said he's upset about the anti-Celine comments considering how she probably had nothing to do with it herself. He would've clarified that in his tumblr post.

I am so happy that I'm not the only one thinking all this is weird!

There have been FAR WORSE sites about Céline online.

And also, Céline makes faces all the time, on tv, on stage, everywhere, she knows there are pictures taken of her all the time. She once said that it's something she accepts.

So I honestly don't believe it's Célines doing.. closing down the site

This is duckumu, creator of the blog. I posted on page 1 of this thread back when it started. I'm happy to hear you're all following the news about the blog being shut down and that you seemed to have enjoyed the blog while it lasted.

I'll give you some extra information fan-to-fan and how I see what happened.

About a week and a half ago I got a letter from Celine's lawyers that the usage of images in my blog was 'illegal' and I had to remove all the pictures or I would face legal consequences. I complied right away. I know that disappoints a lot of people, but I just don't have the time or energy to get in a legal battle, and I just wanted it over with.

Some people are suggesting that the letter I got is possibly a hoax. I guess that is a possibility, but I'm a lot more confident that it's real than anyone else is that it's a fake. The law firm that it came from is a real firm, and the lawyer's name on it was real also. The letter came straight from Montreal on very official paper and stuff. If it's a fake then it's a very good one.

I highly doubt Celine even knows about this blog or that any of this is happening. My guess is that someone on her publicist's team saw it, didn't understand it or didn't like it, and then had the legal team send the notice.

I'm sad the blog is gone. I had some fun things left to post, and I was about to start going through the documentary and old music videos and make some fun screencaps to share.

I don't blame Celine at all. I still love Celine and her music. But I am sad that her PR team couldn't take the time to tell that this was a fan's blog with a lot of contribution from the fan community.

^ I don't think you should've assumed that Celine Dion found the blog as you stated on the front page. :nono:

If it was clearly worded, perhaps, the press will not make up stuff about her being furious, etc.

I think when the press says Celine is 'furious' they don't mean her personally, they mean the entity that is Celine Dion which includes her whole publicity team. It is simply easier and shorter to say 'Celine Dion'...

I think it was a mistake for her team to demand the site be closed. It obviously was not a vicious attack on her. Everyone knows she makes funny faces...so what. That is one of the things we love about her. Now, all the news places have picked up the story and are blasting all over the place! This is probably one of the most damaging things to have happened to her career in a very long time. Personally, it does not shed a very good light on her and makes her sound like a demanding diva!

I the name of the blog was kinda aggregated some fans. Btw I followed your blog ^_^ it was cool. But yea I agree you should have re-worded the message telling us what happened cause it made it sound like she was pissed at the blog. Maybe another post addressing how rude people are being and the mean things they're saying about Celine. And that it was a copyright thing and not because she didn't like it... :shrug:

They talked about it on E-Talk on the truth or rumour thing. They say that it's Céline who shut down the blog and they showed a part of the message that was posted where it said, the dream is over. I can't believe this! It's so freaking weird! Why is the whole world talking about this!
