I just PMed the administrators about this. I am outraged. You have NO RIGHT to speak for the members of this forum. I am so disgusted I asked to have my account here closed because I am embarrassed to be associated with people who did this. Bad mouthing on the media Celine 2 days after her premiere? What sort of sick people are you? You call yourself fans?

 

Seriously, what's with the entitlement? Celine didn't sing your favorite song? BOO-OOH! CRY ME A f****** RIVER. Do you always behave like petty annoying and spoiled children when you don't get what you want? How old are you? 5 years old?

 

I am feeling quite sick right now. How unfair is this, not only to Celine, who is working her butt off, but to the whole team of Rene, Ken, Mego, Aucoin and others who worked so hard for this. To have a bunch of entitled people writing such bullshit. You should be very ashamed of yourselves. I am ashamed of being remotely connected to this so call forum of fans. Seriously. And what makes me actually shake with rage is the fact that you mention the forum with 25000 members when it's only a bunch of you who are pissed off. You had no right to do this.

 

This forum had fans dancing on the streets of Vegas, people offering gifts to Rene under a banner with this forum's name, people doing interviews just 2 days ago. Now this articles made them look like fools. You made us all look like fools. Next time, used YOUR NAMES, not ours. It's not fair!

 

Haven't you learned nothing from Celine all these years? What about respect and humility? Learn your lesson, then.

Norm follows me on twitter as he seen my forum interviews/updates posted on there a while back when my twitter was public, but I got alot of nasty twitter members sending me all kinds of nasty messages about Celine, and my interviews so I made my account private.

 

Since last week hes really started to tweet about Celine, and I tweeted him on Tuesday asking if he would be at the press conference after the show, and to ask Celine would she add ( 1 song ) that ''some'' fans in general would like added to the show in the future ( Then you look at me ).

 

He tweeted me back in the middle night, to gather more info. but with the time difference I was in bed, so he never asked it at the press conference.

 

So on Wednesday, he was tweeting about the show, and we were talking about it through DM and I said in general that there was more cover songs than Celine's, and a certain bit of the show was a bit boring and ''some'' other fans thought the same, and next time he interviews Rene/Celine, could he ask them if she would add '' Then you look at me'' to the show to replace a cover.

 

I had no idea that he'd put this in his blog, and I was not talking about ''every'' fan feeling the same as I obviously cannot talk for everyone... he knows I'm a contributor on the forum from my twitter account as the url for the site is also on my profile.

 

I apologise for the way this has happened but it was not my intention at all.... it was an honest mistake!

well to be honest it's all true and sorry, but I don't blame Darren at all. He expressed views that many of us have (and many of us don't).

We all agree that she sounds amazing but it's totally TRUE that there are more cover songs. It comes from the setlist and every person can see it. You can't deny it! It's good that there are both opinions (positive and negatives) because I'm sure that many of us who dislike this article would love to listen to some more Celine songs and if it happened, you wouldn't complain at all.

The author of the article didn't have to write about his "conversation" with Darren. He may as well saw and read it by himself on the forum. And don't generalise on the opposite that most of fans love the show. We share both opinions and you should also accept the negative ones (which aren't that negative, it's only a few boring songs that could be replaced)

First it was poor Barnev's facebook, a handful of people from this forum went to badger him about the tracklist as if the poor guy had any power to change anything. Now asking an effing reporter? This adds to the fact that people should think twice about the things they write. Ban me, report me, whatever... but I've seen so much atrocities written in this place, so called fans ripping Celine and every single damn thing she does to shreds. People can see this and it might get picked up in the media. But why would you care, right? It's your damn opinion, might even make the papers and hurt Celine and her team's feeling.... as long as people hear you, right? Disgusting.

Anyone remember when Celine commented about getting Kayaks in to help in the wake of Hurrican Katrina on that American TV show?

 

I do........ and I also remember the commentary (elsewhere on the internet) slamming her for getting politically involved after her comments about Iraq in this interview.

 

Rightly or wrongly she made these comments. However she has always self styled herself (quite rightly) as a non political figure and this got used against her.

 

I'm seeing similarities here. Darren, I feel sorry for you but it's a lesson learned. When someone is in a position of influence representing a committee, forum or large group of people you will never satisfy everyone. BUT, this position must be used with caution so as not to put oneself into a compromising one which is what has happened here.

 

I''m not going to get emotional about it but I don't agree with those unhappy with the set list and yes I'm not 100% happy about my membership being used in that way..... more particularly because I'm a paying donor here.

 

However, this show is not about us. Celine and Rene have chosen songs that will relate to a broad market....... A setlist made up of her unreleased back catalogue has no real longevity in a show like this, unlike A New Day... which was as much about the visual as her. The was a danger that they could have reinvigorated A New Day style show..... but that would have been unoriginal as would bringing the TC Tour to vegas.

 

We should be celebrating her return and its critical acclaim so far. Our opinions should be voiced yes, but in an individual way.

Also lets be honest, it's more difficult for us to be truly objective about this as we are all big fans. Is that why we are so opinionated?

I don’t understand the attacking that keeps going on in this forum, it seems to be happening more and more often. Some of you draw your own conclusions and make assumptions. I agree completely. Looking the other side, I was complaining about the setlist too, but I dont know what to say. Somehow I'd be happy to have some songs replaced, not the ones I WANT, but at least sth we never heard before. Whatever it could be, I'd be happy.

I have a list of songs that I'd love to see performed live. Probably none ever will. What am I going to do? Write to a newspaper complaining? Oh please... That's sick. And people call themselves fans.

 

Ok, yes. This is somehow humiliating for the fans who dislike the show. Especially the phrase ''some fans''. For god sake. They could have put our names too. Well, I agree that we say what we want, that we express what we want, but maybe this is not the right way as I thought at first when I wrote cuz I didn't read all the stuff well. OMG Seriously, what's the problem with you?? Can't you stand that people here have their own opinion, and believe it or not there are positive and negative opinions too?

 

I've read the article and I believe Darren has NOT said a single incorrect piece of information. He has echoed what MANY people here thought about the show setlist as soon as it became available during the rehearsal days: a show full of covers and consequently, MANY fans here missed Celine's songs. What's what annoys you here? Has he told any lie? He couldn't have said it clearer .

 

I congratulate Darren and thank him for speaking the truth, the disappointment that many of us have here. What's more, I hope René (and Céline hopefully) read this article and are aware of *some* fans feelings and thoughts about this new show. What's the matter of that? Do you always act like this praising everyone blindly??

 

I'm glad there's also a lot of people that loves the show. I'm sure that seeing it live may change this opinion to the better. But in the meantime (or not), please bear with that. We are all entitled to have OUR opinion

Darren!! Like I said, you don't have to apologize for anything!. The article says "disappointment from SOME members" not the whole Celine fandom in the world. Some fans here think that the whole Céline communinity of the solar system is in this board and that out of it there's nobody else

 

There's no mistake Darren. Someone had to tell Céline's team that this show has not been made for the fans, and I'm glad its been you. I really hope René reads it and change some songs for the better with Céline's songs, like maaaaaaaaany people have expressed here during the past days, and the "offended" fans, you perfectly know this has been the general sentiment

How can you moan and lash yourselves taking Céline's position like this?? Do you really think that if they know fans miss more of Céline's songs they wont do whatever they can to please us?? We can have Céline singing the same opening and LCMM/RDMH/MHWGO ending in her concerts until the last days of her career OR we can try to change that instead. And if the only way to contact them (since the official site is totally useless) is via a journalist and an article, perfect. But someone needs to tell first! Though according to you, its better to keep telling Céline and René how youpidoo are her concerts since 15 years no matter how annoyed you are of listening release after release, concert after concert just the same songs (and now not even that, because this is the "least" Céline concert she has done in her career, with the least number of her own songs like Timster graphically shown us).

Darren you rock. You have echoed many voices here. Those who have blamed and lashed you for voicing an opinion which does not include a single lie in it should be ashamed, after all the interviews and contributions you have made to this forum and all the LOVE you have proved you have for Céline.. It's really disgusting that they have talked of you that way after all the free competitions you have made for this forum. Shameful!

 

Some people just can't understand that if we complain about certain things its because we want the best of the best from Céline, and because we know she can do that. We're not asking on a whim or just for the sake of it :thumbsup2

It is good to make a change, I thought it at first, but calling us ''some fans'' I dont know. I'd only change this title. That's all cuz it sounds offensive a bit. We seem to be outraged cuz of the opinions we make. I find it not correct somehow. It seems that those who dont like some things from the show(cuz there is no anybody who dislikes the show completely, im sure) seem to be very negative. That's the way I see. It's hilarious, I know . Also, everybody is doing everything for this forum as much as they can, so we dont have to praise only one person beside 25,000 members. The rest deserve to have their own place too. Thank u .

That's exactly what im trying to say all the time. I dont want her to change anything special. I dont want my list of the songs, just the songs from her discography cuz there're milions great things. Whatever she chooses will be great, just to replace this list thats been sung over years .

All I know is that Céline's discography is riddled with truly gems in the music History, like the lists posted above ^^, and sorry but I'm not going to apologize for wanting and wishing more of these songs in her concerts, since those are the songs with which I became a fan, not James Bond, Ella Fitzgerald or MJ songs (no matter how good they are).

 

And they way you have talked about Darren when he has not asked those words to be put that way, is just disgusting. You should know how many disinterested things he has organised for this forum before judging him the way some of you have done. THAT is unfair. Totally :nono:

All I know is that Céline's discography is riddled with truly gems in the music History, like the lists posted above ^^, and sorry but I'm not going to apologize for wanting and wishing more of these songs in her concerts, since those are the songs with which I became a fan, not James Bond, Ella Fitzgerald or MJ songs (no matter how good they are).

 

And they way you have talked about Darren when he has not asked those words to be put that way, is just disgusting. You should know how many disinterested things he has organised for this forum before judging him the way some of you have done. THAT is unfair. Totally :nono:

 

I know that he did. I dont say he didnt. I've been here for 4 years, im not blind and im thankful to him, but there're also 24,000 members too. Everybody did sth for this site, so is not fair for other people here. And by the way, if he wanned to make some change which is good idea, why he didnt suggest us to make sth together? Why he had to do alone? I think we're community here, we're not doing things individually. Its normal that some people react this way. Think about..

Honestly, I do not think the article is offensive at all - and it does state the truth, even though it makes it sound "sensational". But sensationalism is what today's journalism is all about, sadly.

 

However, it does reflect the truth - and I don't think it's unfair to Céline to suggest changes to the show. To think that the show wouldn't change anyways during a three year (or more) period is ridiculous, and A New Day... was also a completely different show from beginning to end.

 

This is the natural process of things. Let it be.

I've expressed my disagreement and as a paying donor to this board yes I agree it's an error of judgement.

The drama here is worthy of an Oscar (maybe we could get Celine to sing the theme at the next academy awards.... 'I Sing The Songs (But I Don't Want To)'

We don't own Celine, She could be really selfish and retire a long time ago. She has chosen to return to the stage because she loves to.

Being fans of course allows us to express opinions but it's not a race to decide who's the 'Super' or 'Uber' or 'VIP' fan or whatever silly status someone decides to adorn themselves with.

She's a mother to twin boys that are just 6 months old and she is still breastfeeding so her energy's gone but yet she's on the stage as usual giving 110%. I doubt she wants to be jumping or running through or even trying to sing more up tempo songs, not to mention she's probably tired of singing them. She placed in the show the have to have (POL, IACBTMN, BYLM, ABM, MHWGO) can you not be happy and just listen to her sing.

I am a bit agree, of course i want to hear her AMAZING SONGS, but sincerly SOME of the songs are great, they fit perfectly to her voice.

Some songs that celine's team should replace by others are:Love can move mountains, Spinning Wheel,How Do You Keep the Music Playing? for Then you look at me, je ne vous oublie pas, the reason i go on,stand by your side,zora sourit,falling into you, shadow of love (those are my favourite by now)

I am surely if someone tells this to Celine or Rene they will add changes.

Ok so its clear there are two sides in all of those fans who are asking for more of Céline's own songs:

 

1) Those who want more of her hits (i.e. Think Twice, A New Day Has Come, That's The Way It Is, If You Asked Me To...)

2) Those who want more of her own songs, but not necessarily hits (i.e. Then You Look At Me, Right In Front Of You, Just Walk Away...)

 

In my case I'm in the second option, and I think its the intelligent one, because if I had the chance to see her performing whatever song I could request from her catalogue, I won't ask her to sing again a song that she has already performed, even if its a rare song. I would take advantage of this chance and request songs that she has never performed on a stage before

 

I mean we've seen her sing That's The Way It Is already (and this song never worked live), we already have videos of If You Asked Me To performances. But we've never seen her sing Then You Look At Me, I'm Loving Every Moment With You, Halfway To Heaven, Right In Front Of You or I Know What Love Is. Those are the songs I would love to see her sing, and I thought she would take the chance with this show to present them for the very first time since she recorded them. But she didn't, and that's why I somehow feel disappointed.

 

Though its not the end of the world, I know, and hopefully we'll see some positive changes later

 

So I assume that when you said "the robot voice through the so called *much needed* songs", you are referring to the hits, not the totally unknown songs that I mean in the group 2. Therefore, Céline can't be tired of singing any of those songs since she has never performed them in front of people So that's why I'm asking for those rare, never-performed-before songs, so that she won't be tired of singing them (contrary to songs like RDMH or LCMM with which she has to be SO tired of them)
