Céline's Blues Posted March 16, 2011 at 08:48 PM Posted March 16, 2011 at 08:48 PM The state of Céline’s vocals in recent times might be much debated but with the recent bootleg she proved to be sounding pretty solid with a distant yet tangible hint of her former stage self. This only goes to show that whether she concentrates on her babies or her songs, as long as she concentrates at all, the result is more than satisfactory. Now with her recent vocal lessons I’m almost afraid that this distant ghost of the 90s might come back and haunt us again. Oh, how I wish to be haunted again by it and now more than ever, the possibility is all the more apparent. As my theory goes, she still can do it, she still can rise above the vocal mediocrity and tediousness that has been plaguing her all these years. All she needs to go is open her mouth and sing. Which she did: For a new beginning! All her baby histrionics are forgotten with one properly held note. She should do it more often and I hope she will. Quote http://i.imgur.com/dmreJ.jpg

Your_Su_Phu Posted March 16, 2011 at 09:28 PM Posted March 16, 2011 at 09:28 PM (edited) I think goldfinger (a vocal highlight for me despite the strong accent) might be lipped but who cares the entire show sounds great she seems to be employing more vibrato these days that can't be a bad thing Edited March 16, 2011 at 09:30 PM by Your_Su_Phu Quote

Matias Posted March 16, 2011 at 09:32 PM Posted March 16, 2011 at 09:32 PM I my opinion is because she trainned her voice well and the songs are not so demanding vocally...so she can flaunt her voice more Quote http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_maic6m257V1rbfceqo2_250.gif"No no, put it back..."

Tyler1991 Posted March 16, 2011 at 09:37 PM Posted March 16, 2011 at 09:37 PM I felt like there was a great amount of vocal songs. The only songs that didn't show some sort of amazing vocal was Lullaby and the Stevie Wonder song. Everything else demonstrated great range. And whether live or not, it was all new (except ABM), so it reflected the recent training on her voice. Quote
