First of all, it would be so loooooooong but moreover:

Those discussions have been triggered by her amazing ticket sales that are ringing up record numbers at the box office

It may be the reason but the show isn't sold out as we were told

the perfect show for the fans

it's true up to the point, it highlights her voice in the best possible way BUT it's not about her music, that's the fact, fans want to hear artist's songs, not so many covers. So it's not a perfect show for us since we have only few Celine songs and almost all of them are shortened and we don't have songs from the last 14 years.

Really? This they could have said in 2003 when she was after successful comeback with completely 2 new albums, with wealth of her older repertoire and 3 really big worldwide songs (IA, ANDHC, IDAN). but now? She hasn't released any new album since 2007, of course we had a tour but it was finished 2 years ago! she has no new album now, no no.1 singles, nothing. She is focusing on her old repertoire and bunch of covers. She may be at the peak as far as her voice and strength is concerned but nothing more

I had to really think about this before I posted. When I first read the thread, I thought wow that's great I'll have more chance to see the show. However, I think 5 years is too long. As someone said before, Rene isn't getting any younger... as sad as that is to think about, I think it's time Celine and Rene took a break and had family time. Obviously they spend time together as a family, but Celine has worked really hard over the years, they deserve an extended break.

 

I would love to see this show, but if that meant it getting extended to 5 years I would prefer not to. I would much rather see a new album and maybe another world tour. Yes a world tour is a huge committment, but it would give more fans the chance to see her live and would be over with much quicker than an extension on the Las Vegas show. I guess we'll have to see what is decided, surely they can't make such a big decision after 1 show.

I think if he decides to do so, he should really think about it because lots of things can happen in five years. He's getting old, RC is going to be older and all... I don't know... Céline and René should take this decision together... I know for sure though that he's going to make the best desicion for them and all. Whatever they decide is going to be the right choice!

I'm thinking no. Sure, I would be able to come and that would be great but I'd rather have a tour than two more years in Vegas. Plus René's getting old and if she wants to take a break after I hope she's going to be able to do so. They'll make the best decision whatever they choose though, they'll have great reasons for whatever they do.

Après son triomphe dans cette nouvelle aventure de Las Vegas, la star Céline Dion rentrait se reposer en Floride hier avec sa petite famille. René Angélil avoue se sentir libéré « d’une énorme pression ».

 

« Plus de 90 000 spectateurs, provenant de plusieurs pays du monde, sont venus l’applaudir. Elle est au sommet de son art. Ce spectacle, c’est elle, et l’accueil reçu nous fait chaud au cœur. C’est formidable ce retour à Las Vegas », confie l’impresario.

 

Oui à un contrat prolongé

 

Et devant cet énorme succès, René Angélil confirmait hier que les négociations vont bon train pour prolonger le contrat de trois ans au Caesars Palace. « Nous songeons vraiment à ajouter deux autres années. Ça devrait se régler très bientôt. Je suis optimiste ».

 

Il se dit d’autant plus heureux que toute la famille s’est fort bien adaptée à ce nouveau rythme de vie.

 

« Depuis la première du 15 mars, j’ai une grosse brique de pression de moins sur les épaules. Il y avait tant à faire et ce retour, je le voulais parfait. Je crois que nous avons réussi. J’ai assisté à tous les shows et les fans viennent me voir pour me dire à quel point ils trouvent Céline en voix et extraordinaire sur scène ».

 

« Ce sont de merveilleuses retrouvailles. Les jumeaux vont bien ; René-Charles est heureux à Vegas en assistant à ses cours via Skype et en jouant dans une ligue de baseball. Tout le monde va bien et c’est tout ce qui compte » a indiqué d’une voix rassurée le fier papa.

 

Album en français reporté ?

 

Ce retour à Las Vegas lui a permis de renouer avec plusieurs artistes et fidè les de Céline, dont Luc Plamondon qui sera très impliqué dans le prochain album de la star, en français.

 

« Il se peut que nous retardions le lancement de cet opus en français parce que je veux donner plus de temps à Luc. Il y aura d’autres grands noms sur cet album en français qui nous tient très à cœur Céline et moi, dont Jean-Pierre Ferland, Luc et d’autres auteurs-compositeurs en France. Nous travaillons également à un album en anglais. La vie est belle, mais disons qu’après des mois d’efforts, tant pour la naissance de nos jumeaux que pour la préparation de ce spectacle, c’est bon de savourer ce succès et ces belles retrouvailles. Ce repos est bien mérité » conclut un René Angélil comblé qui était de retour à Jupiter Island hier.

 

√ Céline Dion sera de retour à Las Vegas le 7 juin prochain jusqu’au 14 août. On sait que la maman respecte le calendrier scolaire de René-Charles. mclord@journalmtl.com

I thought it was really enough when she finished exhausted 5 years of A New Day performances in 2007. But it seems all the opposite

Céline in Vegas = $$$$$. It's no longer about being an artist. She's sold out to be the Anglophone star. Ever since AND I denied that fact, but I can't deny it anymore. She's got the talent, there's no doubt, but it's aimed in the wrong direction.

Exactly that René is in negotiations to extend the show for 2 more years, and it seems very confident about a positive outcome

I agree, i think if Celine wants to extend then she should but why rush into it, Just extend after two years if her heart still feels that way.. a million things could happen in 3 years they should wait to extend in my opinion.

Okay this may be a great show, but seriously we don't need 5 years of it.

If Celine wants to stay in Vegas for stability, they should finish out the 3 year contract then design another new show instead of the new one they have now, She will be sick of those songs after 3 years.

 

I hope her 4th and 5th year have like only 10 shows.

Supposidley in the article Rene tells the guy that they are under negotiations, and that Celine is suposidley recording later this year.

 

While I would be excited for an album I don't want it while she is doing Vegas ebcause then the show would totally change gears and be about her new album. I see a repeation of "A New Day" if that happens.

 

But on the brightside nesarly 90,000 people have already seen the show.

I'm Alive and Alone are confirmed to have been rehearsed (just to let you know if someone hasn't seen it in the other topic)

So we have at least 5 songs that could have been in the show (along with Diamonds are forever, Can't stop loving you and Declaration of love - sung by Celine)

 

 

Alone is still printed on the glasses and mugs etc in the Boutique! I hope that song will make it, IA should be burried

 

 

 

and I wouldn't mind a 5 year run in LV, but only if she does some proper French concerts too...

5 years is too much, I can´t imagine she will be singing same songs (maybe with few changes during years) next 5 years ... I can imagine only if she will do also some diffrent music projects something like mini tour for possible new english album, or small tour with french songs.
