The James Cameron-helmed epic made box office history and walked away with nearly all of the top Academy Awards -- including "Best Original Song," of course, for Celine Dion's "My Heart Will Go On." The beloved Canadian songstress performed the winning ballad with a full backing orchestra and appropriately dramatic fog. Dion wore a Heart of the Ocean-lookalike necklace that would make Rose jealous, and her impassioned glory notes satisfied every "Titanic" fan's desire for a blockbuster-caliber performance. Quote

Tyler1991 Posted February 24, 2011 at 09:42 PM Posted February 24, 2011 at 09:42 PM This is deserving unlike the horrid performance at the Grammy Awards which also (miraculously) achieved #2. Quote

It wasnt her best but it wasnt horrible by any means. Of Course the OSCARS performance was better but in my opinion the World Childrens Day Performance was her best of that song from 2002. Quote

Tell Him is far more difficult than MHWGO, and at that point she had been performing MHWGO regularly, so I don't really see the last minute change as her being unable to hit a decent D5. And in terms of performances of that song, it is far the worst, well that and Oprah 2002. Divas Live, UNICEF Gala, Rosie, World Children's Day, Oscar's and ANDHC are all pretty close to the best. I hate the Oscar performance. I feel the Grammys was much better than the Oscars that year lol Quote "...It's the circle of life. You gotta look forward. Two days during the year there's nothing you can do about: yesterday and tomorrow. Today is a great day." - Celine Dion, People.
I Love You Posted February 25, 2011 at 01:33 AM Posted February 25, 2011 at 01:33 AM Great, but should be number 1. That performance, made me into a Celine fan at age 8. Quote
I Drove All Night! Posted February 25, 2011 at 04:03 AM Posted February 25, 2011 at 04:03 AM To be fair the title is 10 Awesome Oscar Performances... which doesn't necessarily mean she's ranked at no 2 as much as it means she's one of the top ten... And 3 6 Mafia as number 1? More proof that it's not ranked... Quote

I don't think any one would argue that the Oscar performance was anything but EPIC! I would. Not horrible, but I didn't think it was good or anything close to her best. Mainly I blame the orchestra, who sounded really bad and were playing way too slow. Celine was trying to rush a little, and so it never sounded together. It was like they were battling over the tempo the whole way through. Celine's voice was good, though. Quote
