There's this dossier thing in the Journal de Montréal today about René. Apparently, he's celebrating his's 40 or 50th anniversary in the business. I'm going to get the paper soon so I'll be able to do a resume for everyone. He's also talking about the new show in Vegas (which he says is going to be better than the last one), Céline (doing therapy and singing lessons. She's singing better than ever). :)

Thanks for the info c'line-rc, you're a darling! :)

Anytime! It's my pleasure!

So, here we go.

In the interview, René says that he's happy with everything that he's done and that he's always done it because he likes it. Never for the money. They say how everything started on February 14th 1961. He's going to be celebrating 50 years in the business on Monday! He says that he worked hard, nothing is ever won in advance, you must never give up and always believe. He does'nt regret anything either. He says that there's no magic recipe. The key is that you have to have passion. There's lots of ''fake'' managers, ones that are only in there for the money. They read story's like his and go in there thinking it's going to happen like that for them too and that they're going to make a fortune. He says that it's the most beautiful job in the world because you communicate emotions to the public. He's had pressre for the last year for Céline's new show but now he's seeing the rehersals and he's going well. He's feeling a nice emotion. He thinks that his greatest force is that he knows just what the public wants. The most beautiful compliment that you can give him is to tell him that he knew just what the public wanted. He's still learning, even after 50 years.

He says that he doesn't have any regrets and if he would have to do it again, he would do it the same way. He learns from his mistakes and doesn't make them twice.

Then, he talks about the new show, Céline, the twins, what's coming and all.

He says that Céline is a unique artist but that she also works very hard. She's been taking singing classes and doing two hours of physiotherapy everyday for the past two months! She's singing better than ever! They also talk about how she's going to tape Oprah on Wednesday and it's going to air on the 21st! After, she's going to head for Vegas. She's going to stay at Caesars for the first series of shows until the renovations are done. They should be back in their home this summer. The kids are heatly, Céline is happy and he's working on the show. He says that every year, they invite Céline to sing at the Grammy's but because of her scheduel, she never can (I guess that answers our question if she's going to be there or not!). The show is going to last 1h40. It's hard to do more in Vegas René says. He talks about the twins. They're going to be baptised in Vegas on March 5th. They godfathers are going to be Patrick, Jean-Pierre and René-Charles. The godmothers are Linda and Anne-Marie. It's going to be a family even, very rich! He's really happy.

He says that a standing ovation still makes him cry. He's going to be the first one to cry on opening night. He says that during Christmas time, he was just so happy. He had his family, his children, his's grand-children, he couldn't ask for more. He's lucky to have such an amazing family after spending the last 50 years of his life in this carreer very demanding and where you can just loose everything. He's talking about his family with great pride. Céline is an amazing mother and he's very happy for her. The most important thing is that she's happy and well. The twins are RC were her dream. He says that to have a good carreer is good to be ''réussir'' your life is even better. He says that the thing he's most pround about with Céline is her roots from Québec, her personnality. He says that people from Québec are the most warm and welcoming people and he thinks that if Céline is loved all over the world, it's because of that warmth and generosity. She's a true Québécoise! He also talks about the Bye-Bye. A friend sent him the stech but now, that kind of thing doesn't bother him anymore. He says that people laugh at Céline because they're jealous. He doesn't feel like spending time on negativity like that, life is too beautiful.

Am I the only one who like just fell in love with René again? He's just seems to wise, happy and all. It's amazing. It's really deep. I'm really happy that I could share it with all of you!

I'm sorry that the pictures aren't straight... I couldn't turn them... :shy:

Every year in Québec, for god knows how long, we've done this Bye-Bye thing which is like a review of the year. This year (as every year, they laughed at Céline. René got really mad last year, not because of the jokes about Céline but on Barack Obama and all) and it gave this sketch thing. Bye-Bye 2010 SRC Des Nouvelles Nouvelles de Céline

René didn't see it when it was shown on TV but a friend sent him a link to the video and he just doesn't bother wasting his time on people who are laughing at Céline because they are jelous of her success. He didn't have any comment. Hope it helped, if you have more questions, don't be shy to ask! :)

It's my pleasure to help other Céline fans! I'm happy you appreicate it! :flowers:

This article today from http://fr.canoe.ca (Feb 13, 2011) :whee:

It's true what you're saying Lindseyn and so sweet! Thank you! I'm not saying that because I'm from Québec and all but because I notice it a lot. People are always so nice, you shouldn't be afraid to talk to us! Plus, I feel the same way about René. He's really a loving man! I think it's something about Québec, maybe because from where we started like 400 years ago, how we had to work really hard up to very recently (we still do!).

De rien, c'est mon plaisir! I'm really happy I can help every one like this!

That is so awesome. Thank you so much for taking the time to do that Roxy, you're a gem.

Rene is so lovely, the things he says just prove all the cynics wrong; he really does love Celine.

I wonder why she's having therapy though...hope she's okay! Then again, having twins must be a trying, traumatic experience, as well as an immense joy, big clash of emotions!

Lovely article!

Thanks again :D

it's strange that they are going to live in the hotel for the time being, I thought they would have enough time to prepare the house for the twins but I hope she'll invite 'us' there later on...

There is nothing really concrete, we know everything, it's just a nice talk about Celine and the twins. I really like this interview with Rene:)

Thank God there are special entrances for them at the hotel. I fear for them because of some of their crazed fans that would follow them to the restroom!
