My all-time favorite is White Christmas.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7fWoYzodwiU But I also LOVE O' Holy Night by Céline http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Jr-2eyRtV4 Blue Christmas by Célinehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6HUk-ying4Q Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vPaGQEskSKM Quote http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y157/byusmurf/siggy12-25-05.jpg
stevethefan Posted November 30, 2007 at 02:26 AM Posted November 30, 2007 at 02:26 AM Too many to think of and list! Here's a few: "Little Drummer Boy" sung by Bing Crosby and David Bowie. Weird pairing but cool. Any version of "Ave Maria" of course Celine's is great. Anything from "A Charlie Brown Christmas." I forgot the name of the song but Ronnie Spector sang it and it's great. "Jingle Bell rock" Quote
celinedionsfan Posted November 30, 2007 at 03:03 AM Posted November 30, 2007 at 03:03 AM Ave Maria - especially Celine's version which i listen to all year, not just at Christmas time. O Holy Night - especially Celine's - but have other singers as well. Mary's Boy Child - Boney M's version is the BEST!!! Anne Murray's version is also good. Those are my top 3 ... like others as well ... Note to Steve - I also have the Ave Maria by Heart, Jewel, Celtic Women & I think I have the Carpenter's Ave Maria also. Note to Brenda & Steve - Love ya both!!! Quote http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h24/celinedionsfan/candmsig8.jpg

PrincesseJen Posted December 1, 2007 at 03:16 PM Posted December 1, 2007 at 03:16 PM Though usually I prefer the more religious types of Christmas songs I think "Silver Bells" might be my favorite. My dad likes the movie "Lemon Drop Kid" with Bob Hope. My favorite part is the duet of this song. I also like "Joy To The World", "The First Noel" and "Christmas Eve"...and many more And I can't believe I forgot Carol Of The Bells - with vocals - not just instrumental! "Hark tell the bells" I really love that song too though I hadn't owned a version of it until last Tuesday. Emmy Rossum has a LP of 3 songs with that one included out this Tuesday. I really like her version with her beautiful layering of voice. She has previews on her myspace. Quote http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z30/Sarahj21230/Celine%20and%20Josh/pinkroseCeline-1.jpg
LVCeline Posted December 1, 2007 at 05:29 PM Posted December 1, 2007 at 05:29 PM Oh Holy Night is my favorite Christmas song! Celine's version is by far the best, followed by Mariah Carey's. I also love Silent Night; I would diiiiiiiiie to have Celine record this song Do You Hear What I Hear - Celine and Rosie did great; Whitney also has a killer version Happy Xmas (War is Over) - Celine's version Ave Maria - mostly Celine's (both of them) The First Noel Joy to the World White Christmas Don't Save it All For Xmas Day The Magic of Xmas Day Christmas Eve Have Yourself a Merry Little Xmas; another song I'd die for Celine to sing! Come to think of it Celine really needs to release another Xmas album! There are several more song standards she needs to cover! Quote
babymonkey Posted December 1, 2007 at 07:54 PM Posted December 1, 2007 at 07:54 PM My favourite has to be O, holy night as sang by the singer in my local church back home. Just listened to Celines version there. It left me cold. I think a more classical style of voice suits the song a lot better. Odd. http://www.smileysets.us/temp/PRINCESS/huh.gifCeline's version always warms me. And I have tons of different versions. Of course I like Josh's version too. Another of my favorite versions is by Jana (album pic above Clay in my siggy) who sings it in Navajo language. I'm sure I'm gonna like Emmy Rossum's version too.(her pic is above Josh). babymonkey Posted December 1, 2007 at 11:43 PM Posted December 1, 2007 at 11:43 PM Its realy her voice in general that leaves me cold. All the other versions I've checked out online were much the same. I thought the celtic womens was going quite well till they decided to have the violin interlude which I just thought was a bit twee! The lady in my local church has a beautiful, crisp, clear voice. I amn't a big fan of vibrato for the sake of it. I feel it has it's place but not in that song!
