Derek F. Posted January 17, 2011 at 09:26 PM Posted January 17, 2011 at 09:26 PM I was wondering what other's think are Celine's most Legendary performances of her career so far are? These are the performances you believe are her best and that will still impress us and new viewers in 10, 20, or 50 and more years time! Here are my top 5 Celine performances that I believe will stand the test of time and that will always be performances that Celine should be watched to see why Celine is the best singer of our time: [*]1. God Bless America, September 2001, performed live in New York for the America: A Tribute to Heroes telethon. [/size]Absolutely incredible performance! Raw, emotional with awesome vocals! Goose bump giving, Celine was completely moved by the song!. It was the first time she left Rene-Charles and what a honor that Celine was asked to be the final solo performance of the telethon! [*]2. O Holy Night, November 1998, performed on These are Special Times CBS television special. What a incredible, moving performance too watch! Millions of views on YouTube, and it's awesome that it's available to own on Celine's Collectors edition remastered, re-released Christmas album with DVD in 2007. [*]3. The Power of the Dream, July 1996, performed live for the Olympics in held in America(The last time they were held in America)A great moment to watch again and again, exciting, wowing vocals with a hair-raising ending! Brillant performance! [*]4. My Heart Will Go On, March 1998, performed live at the Oscars During a night when Titanic was still #1 at the Box Office breaking records, #1 on the album charts, and when the movie won a record 11 Academy Awards that still stands today, Celine brought it all together and performed a classic, legendary performance in a now famous dress and necklace with incredible vocals! [*]5. Aren't They All Our Children After All, 2002, performed live for the David Foster special, The World Children's Day Concert In a performance with many stars, Celine gave one of her best vocals and gave a great note during this song that is so impressive! Also had a great ending with Josh Groban! Now please pick your top 5 and discuss why Quote
Guest Reuben Posted January 17, 2011 at 09:43 PM Posted January 17, 2011 at 09:43 PM [*]3. The Power of the Dream, July 1996, performed live for the Olympics in held in America(The last time they were held in America)A great moment to watch again and again, exciting, wowing vocals with a hair-raising ending! Brillant performance! Now please pick your top 5 and discuss why Ehm...the 2002 Winter Olympics were held in Salt Lake City, if only counting Summer Olympics, there have only been 3 Summer Olympics since then the Atlanta games. I would add a Grammy performance, like Dance With My Father, My Heart Will Go On (for which she only had a few minutes to rehearse, or so rumor says) or At Seventeen, very few artists go on an award show broadcast on national tv and sing a 25 five year old song for which they have no interest in promoting. Quote
NancyxxM Posted January 17, 2011 at 10:10 PM Posted January 17, 2011 at 10:10 PM I love the performance of RDMH on the tonight show is it? and At seventeen was amazing.. I love how she could relate to that song so much, and you could see the emotion pour out of her. I have this song on replay all the time now! Shaun Posted January 17, 2011 at 11:45 PM Posted January 17, 2011 at 11:45 PM I would suggest the original VH1 Divas concert should be in any list and probably the group performance of "A Natural Woman" in which, despite Aretha's best attempts to make it all about her, Celine blew the lot of them away and showed Aretha whilst everyone respected her there was a new superstar vocalist in town not to be messed with. Loved it. Quote Bringing you the world's only Celine Dion podcast show since 2014.Find us on Soundcloud, Apple Podcasts, Spotify & Amazon Music.
TommKat22 Posted January 18, 2011 at 12:02 AM Posted January 18, 2011 at 12:02 AM I would also like to add her version of "Can't Help Falling In Love" during her The Colour Of My Love tour. That has one of her best vocals ever! Quote Tommy

Celine Fan 77 Posted January 18, 2011 at 06:35 AM Posted January 18, 2011 at 06:35 AM Here's my top 5: 1. Le blues du businessman (Juno Awards 1999) => This was probably one of the best 100% live vocal performances of her career. One of the most surprising things about this performance is that she sang Let's talk about love earlier that night, but that performance wasn't as impressive as this one. She really got into the song and made the audience go wild at the end. 2. I finally found someone (Oscars 1997) => Eventough she didn't have time enough to rehearse the performance completely, she blew everyone away by singing it the best she could (I tell you her version is much better than the original) and she made history by becoming the first and only artist to have performed twice at the Academy Awards the same night.Watch it here 3. God Bless America (America: A tribute to heroes Telethon 2001) => She showed us that she was taking good care of her voice during her break with this performance, which was extremely moving and emotional. One year after this performance, Celine confessed in an interview with Barbara Walters that she was very afraid she was going to die, that, after everything that happened a few days earlier, another terrible thing would happen again, but she went there and sang it anyway. 4. Ne partez pas sans moi (Eurovision Song Contest 1988) => One of the most important performances of Celine's career took place at Eurovision in Dublin back in 1988. She sang an amazing live version of the song, so close to the original studio recording, and won the competition, blowing everyone away once again. Along with the recording of the song Beauty and the Beast with Peabo Bryson a few years later, this was definitely one of the turning points in Celine's career. 5. Un peu plus haut, Un peu plus loin (Live à Québec 2008) => One of the most emotional moments of Celine's show business life came on August 22, 2008, when she finally got to perform live with one of her all-time idols: Ginnete Renno. Remember that Celine met René because her mother read his telephone number on the back of one of Ginnete's albums in 1981. This was, by the way, one of the most emotional performances of the decade, in my opinion, and not to mention the "intro" she did with Jean-Pierre Ferland before Ginnete came in.Watch it here Quote Tournée Européenne in Paris (December 1, 2013)Céline Dion Live 2016 in Antwerp (June 20, 2016)Céline Dion Live 2017 in Birmingham (July 27, 2017)

LOL How dare you even think about the possibility Celine lips! She is the greatest singer since Streisand...why would she do such a thing! Okay, seriously. Me personally. Psh. Well, Alex JUST got me hooked on "My Way" ....yes, this is #1. I'll disagree with saying LBDB was performed best at the Juno's. Olympia was comparable, and Paris was better. MHWGO at World Children's Day. Though it's not exactly the best IMO. It just had that extra "thing" to it. Divas is vocally the best, followed by UNICEF, and Rosie. LEE for 9/11 Victims. Once again, not the best vocally. That goes to the 1992 performance at some random gala. Fly on Oprah GBA for the 9/11 Victims. Though she sounded strained on the high notes, it was still great. The emotion and significance was more important than the vocal. Have A Heart at the Juno's. This right here. Amazing. Anyone who hasn't seen this needs to watch it. Pronto. I'll have more later.... Dionesque Posted January 19, 2011 at 09:35 AM Posted January 19, 2011 at 09:35 AM Have anyone an mp3 of "Have A Heart" at Junos?? It's probably my fave song from "Unison" album and I'd love to listen to it on my mp3 player, omg! As addictions to my list I'd say: "My Way" (live at a funeral in 1992 - is there any other performance of this song available, btw?) "L'amour existe encore" at Québec for NYC on 28-09-2001 They are both so beautiful and amotional! J-Man Posted January 19, 2011 at 10:07 AM Posted January 19, 2011 at 10:07 AM That's the only time she performed My Way unfortunately. Last year I tidied that song up a bit. Removed the dedication and reference to Richard, whilst maintaining the full intro, so you're not reminded of a funeral everytime you hear it. Also I fixed the shudder that appears on the word curtain. It's available to download or listen to on my facebook page Barbara. Quote http://www.powerofthemusic.com/other/FORUMSIG1.png
Dionesque Posted January 19, 2011 at 10:14 AM Posted January 19, 2011 at 10:14 AM I know, J-Man, thank you for reminding us! You did a good job by that, I suppose I downloaded this edited version right after you posted it! The only issue I have about this edited version is that it shouldn't be saved at 224 kbps. The best quality original recording of this song I've seen online was at 128 kbps. I don't know what quaity was the file that you've edited but just by adding kbps you won't enhance the quality if the quality of the original file is poor... It only consumes disc space, nothing else. J-Man Posted January 20, 2011 at 10:28 AM Posted January 20, 2011 at 10:28 AM The kpbs on the program was pre-set to 224 when I saved it. Could see no reason to go back and save it again at 128 kpbs. The object of the excercise was to remove the spoken intro and such things. Msinly for my own personal enjoyment. Glad you liked it though Quote http://www.powerofthemusic.com/other/FORUMSIG1.png
Javito Posted January 20, 2011 at 10:39 AM Posted January 20, 2011 at 10:39 AM MHWGO @ the 1998 Oscars is the most remarkable performance in her career I think. The combination of factors -the huge song success, the big Oscars event, and the striking dress and necklace she wore- had not been beaten yet Other than that, in french, Des Mots Qui Sonnent in the Olympia concert is extremely remarkable, and that without a video yet. But the day this concert is released, we will be like in front of our screens Quote "Hush, now... I see a light in the sky"
MTJ Posted January 20, 2011 at 01:12 PM Posted January 20, 2011 at 01:12 PM (edited) I think in most peoples' minds her most memorable performances (in the outside of being a celine fan world) actually start with You Shook Me All Night Long. But in a bad way...I've had so many people mention that to me. Also MHWGO from the Grammys (although not in a bad way). To me, the most memorable is UPPHUPPL from Sur Les Plaines. I think to her, I Finally Found Someone would be on the short list, too. Edited January 20, 2011 at 01:13 PM by imgoingtobiteyoure_face Quote
