Dionesque Posted January 12, 2011 at 01:28 PM Posted January 12, 2011 at 01:28 PM Always feels good to read positive stuff like this about Céline. I haven't read a word from "New English album" topic yet so I expect everything and nothing. Will be just great to hear new material from our Girl but I'm not hiding that I'm even more excited about the new French album! And oh my, they even appreciate her "One Heart" album which is, according to my personal impression, the less apreciated of her albums among fans... Well, it's not my fave either but it truely included some gems. Well, it's not my fave either but it truely included some gems. It's true, I didn't like it in the beggining except for IDAN, but with time, it's has grown in me. It includes real gems But maybe that's because it should have been called ANDHC Part II. The new songs included in OH should have been released in a double special edition of ANDHC and leave the Chrysler single IDAN alone in a separate cd single release Quote "Hush, now... I see a light in the sky"
Shaun Posted January 12, 2011 at 06:34 PM Posted January 12, 2011 at 06:34 PM Agree about the "One Heart" album. It is wildly underated by the fans. Even if it was blatantly thrown together for the Chrysler deal it still features some of Celine's finest uptempo songs. Why "Reveal" never get released as a single I will never know. Celine has never had a more "current" song than that one at the time. Dance pop was everywhere and as someone else mentioned Kylie was having great success with similar style songs. Of course "I Drove All Night" has become a Celine classic and others such as "I Know What Love Is" make this an album well worth having in any music collection. Going back to "Taking Chances", you do get the feeling that was Celine's big chance at a "comeback" again. Vegas was finishing, she had announced a tour and she had new music. Will her next album gather as much attention? Quote Bringing you the world's only Celine Dion podcast show since 2014.Find us on Soundcloud, Apple Podcasts, Spotify & Amazon Music.

Celine has never had a more "current" song than that one at the time. Dance pop was everywhere and as someone else mentioned Kylie was having great success with similar style songs.Yes indeed, it remains one of the mysteries of the single releases and promo done by the Céline team. My only probable conclusion is that they have a huge Mariah or Whitney fan infiltrated to have final decisions on the moves they make. Going back to "Taking Chances", you do get the feeling that was Celine's big chance at a "comeback" again. Vegas was finishing, she had announced a tour and she had new music. Will her next album gather as much attention?Well it's hard to tell. They seem to blow every opportunity they have when she has the attention, letting it die away by making no move or killing it by making suicidal moves such as releasing GTSW or Alone as singles. But you never know. Céline got a great amount of attention when showing up to record We Are The World. She should had followed that up quickly by releasing a good single or something... /fred Quote Peace and love to all.
Dionesque Posted January 12, 2011 at 07:18 PM Posted January 12, 2011 at 07:18 PM "Revealed" is great - it was immediately my fave uptempo song after I listened to that album for the 1st time! It got really stuck in my head! Oh, speaking about "We are the world 25" - I know it's a bit off but does anyone of you know when I can find the video for that?? I've seen it on YT right after it was released and somewhen later I read somewhere that it has been released commercially (that's probably why I can't find it here in MM section) but so far I wasn't lucky in finding a place that sells it.. trls Posted January 15, 2011 at 06:16 AM Posted January 15, 2011 at 06:16 AM Kylie huge comeback was in late 2001 / early 2002 when she released her album Fever. Not in the end of the 90's. Actually, Kylie's comeback was in 2000 with Light Years Quote

GoldenLeaf Posted January 16, 2011 at 02:08 AM Posted January 16, 2011 at 02:08 AM (edited) Actually, Kylie's comeback was in 2000 with Light YearsLight Year was a flop. This album wasn't a comeback in term of commercial success. Kylie Minogue's real comeback was her album Fever which includes her hit single Can't Get You Out Of My Head. Any of her fans would agree on this fact. Edited January 16, 2011 at 02:12 AM by Calypso Quote
trls Posted January 16, 2011 at 07:06 AM Posted January 16, 2011 at 07:06 AM Light Year was a flop. This album wasn't a comeback in term of commercial success. Kylie Minogue's real comeback was her album Fever which includes her hit single Can't Get You Out Of My Head. Any of her fans would agree on this fact. Light Years is considered her comeback after the unsuccessful "Impossible Princess" in 97. The first single "Spinning around", a return to her pop-dance roots, was a number one hit in Australia and the UK. Light Years ended up being certified 4x platinum in her home country and platinum in the UK. I admit fever was more successful, sold more copies and had success in the states, but light years helped Kylie get back to prominence after unsuccessful records in the 90s. Plus without light years, there wouldn't have been any anticipation for fever. Fever is considered a continuum to light years, kind of like Falling into you and LTAL. Quote
PatrickDion22 Posted January 17, 2011 at 04:21 AM Posted January 17, 2011 at 04:21 AM Five years? I'm assuming the author meant that ANDHC was her first studio album in that time period (going back to LTAL). Otherwise, he needs to go back to elementary school, and learn his math tables. Another thing, the word "comeback" is being used so much as of late, and has become a cliche. Whenever an artist does a prolonged hiatus and then comes back to release a new album, all the music pundits call it a "comeback." It doesn't matter if they were on top of the world before the hiatus...like Celine was before she came back in 2002 (on her own accord). That stuff just really gets to me, and just solidifies my opinion that journalism is becoming increasingly worse as time goes by. Quote Follow me on Twitter: https://twitter.com/patjsully

Bell Posted January 30, 2011 at 05:17 PM Posted January 30, 2011 at 05:17 PM (edited) Oh, that made me laugh! Britney has NOTHING to do with Celine! As for Whitney's comeback, it would be better if it never happend, it was so disappointing! So she has nothing to do with Celine, either. Minogue and Dion? Those guys must be joking! Kylie may deserve to be considered as having a great comeback but she is so different form Celine. Why do they compare them? Edited January 30, 2011 at 05:17 PM by Bell Quote 16 YEARS A FORUM MEMBER
