2011: 30th Career Anniversary

Hello guys!

 

As you'll know 2011 will mark 30 years for Céline in the music business! In november it will be 30 years since "La Voix Du Bon Dieu" (1981) was released, so I think both Céline and René have much to celebrate this upcoming yhttp://www.celinedionforum.com/index.php?act=post&do=new_post&f=15ear.

 

But I wonder if they will do something this time, because in 2006 (25 anniversary) they did nothing, nor a special release, show, or even a comment from Céline. Nada! (Just the magazine "25 Ans d'amour" was released in Canada).

 

I really hope they remember this time! 30 years of career cannot go unnoticed in the music industry for an artist who is supposed to be the biggest selling female artist in History. Céline can't forget this event... or will she forget and shall the fans remind her?

 

So what you would like to be done? Something? Nothing? A big show? A special release?

 

I think that they could do something in the new show in Vegas, but I hope its not just a special performance or a song with a speech and basta Céline should do a whole show to celebrate this anniversary, just for the fans. A special show dedicated to this 30 years in the showbusiness, and hopefully she could sing songs she has never performed on stage before. Wouldn't be that amazing? Don't we deserve that for once?

 

And now that we have a brand new official site, if would be great if they could count on us to share our opinions for a special show, the songs we would like her to sing etc. I really hope this happens THIS TIME, because if not, it will be really a shame that they act the same as in 2006. If they don't plan anything special (which I wouldn't be surprised because in 2006 they didn't do anything ) I would take advantage of that supposed new "interactivity" that they want for fans, to use the forum and open a thread about this. I know that this forum won't be surpassed at all by any other one, but if the case arrived, we should attract attention there to ask them to do something! If 2011 happens to be like 2006, with a big anniversary in Céline's career and nobody remembers or does nothing for this singer, I think it will be really sad

I don't have a specific idea yet, all I/we know is that Sony is Sony and they couldn't care less of any Céline release earlier than Incognito = earlier than Céline had any link with them. So we couldn't count on Sony to do anything this time either.

It would be much better if we centered on her bringing something special in Vegas, 'cos Sony and Vegas have nothing to do with each other. And what would be better that a week/month of the same song list: rarely or never performed songs by her. So yeah imo your idea is the best.

Exactly Antonio, the latest DVD releases have proved that Sony has lost all the control over Céline Dion releases, since the logo of Feeling Productions and Julie Snyder's Productions J now appear on them. So Céline and René could perfectly do a the release or show they wanted to do to celebrate what they want, no matter if Sony aproves it or not...

 

So I bet for a special show (only one or several) to commemorate this 30th anniversary as it deserves, and then a DVD release by Productions J, like the concert for Quebec in Les Plaines for example Imagine that but full of songs never performed onstage And including those that are in her old vinyls of course

She didn't say that technically, just the name of her son Eddy in his memory, but since she really loved this man, I'm sure she would like to pay him tribute in some other way now... so what would be best in the music aspect that to re-record her first songs with her current voice? Imagine an album with the voice she has today singing C'est Pour Toi, Mon Rêve de Toujours, Avec Toi, Billy, Comme Un Coeur Froid... She can do it perfecty, she just has to find the will to do it

I think LV show is the best opportunity to celebrate her 30 anniversary in the industry and make nearly everyone happy:

1- the songs of her first years with her actual voice and great orquestations.

2- Rare songs she has never or rarely sung in her tours.

3- Her hits everybody knows even not fans.

4- Tribute to songs or artists who have influenced her( here it's included Hollywood movies songs).

 

What do you think? Would we let Céline team know this?

And this would be a matter of Sony, so it's even more possible. BUT remember what had to happen with Michael Jackson for them to release his rare songs. So IMHO it isn't that likely to succeed.

I was thinking about 2011 anniversarrylately. Special show celebreting her 30 years of career would be ABSOLUTLY perfect, I would prefer a big show on big stadium ( my preference is show on Stade de France for example), but as it will be 30 years of begining her francophone career it´s more possible it would be something (concert, special TV show ...) in Québec.
