max24 Posted December 11, 2010 at 01:04 AM Posted December 11, 2010 at 01:04 AM OMG! I have sent an e-mail to Ask Billboard and Gary anwsered it: PLENTY IN TWENTY Hi Gary, Celine Dion first entered the Billboard Hot 100 Dec. 8, 1990, with "Where Does My Heart Beat Now." As she celebrates the 20th anniversary of her first Hot 100 hit, could you please provide a summary of her achievements on Billboard charts and list the sales of her top-selling albums? Thanks, Chris Gorecki Warsaw, Poland Hi Chris, Two decades have, in fact, passed since Dion first graced the Hot 100. "Where Does My Heart Beat Now" entered at No. 80 20 years ago this week. The ballad peaked at No. 4 on the March 2, 1991, chart. Dion had actually first charted on the Adult Contemporary survey the week of Oct. 27, 1990, when her debut U.S. single bowed at No. 41. Since that time, Dion has dominated the AC chart. Her 39 AC hits since her arrival are the most among all artists, as are her 21 top 10s and 11 No. 1s. On the Hot 100, Dion has collected 21 entries, 10 of which reached the top 10. Four of her entries rose to No. 1: "The Power of Love" 1994, four weeks at No. 1 "Because You Loved Me" 1996, six weeks "My Heart Will Go On" 1998, two weeks "I'm Your Angel" (R. Kelly & Celine Dion) 1996, six weeks Dion has tallied 11 top 10s on the Billboard 200, beginning with "The Colour of My Love" (No. 4) in 1994. Four of her albums have reached No. 1: "Falling Into You" (1996, three weeks), "Let's Talk About Love" (1998, one week), "All the Way...A Decade of Song" (1999, three weeks) and "A New Day Has Come" (2002, one week). Dion's total U.S. album sales stand at 51.1 million, the fifth-best sum since SoundScan launched in 1991. She trails only Garth Brooks (68.5 million), the Beatles (61.7), Mariah Carey (52.9) and Metallica (52.6). Here is a look at Dion's 10 best-selling sets, per SoundScan: 10,785,000, "Falling Into You" 9,465,000, "Let's Talk About Love" 7,934,000, "All the Way...A Decade of Song" 5,151,000, "These Are Special Times" 4,502,000, "The Colour of My Love" 3,307,000, "A New Day Has Come" 2,373,000, "Celine Dion" 1,792,000, "One Heart" 1,227,000, "Unison" 1,065,000, "Taking Chances" The thrill of any chart achievements, however, pale in comparison to Dion's deeper joy this holiday season, the first that she, husband Rene Angelil and nine-year-old son Rene-Charles will celebrate with six-week-old fraternal twins Nelson and Eddy. "The love and what I feel inside - I don't know how to put it into words," says Dion. "It's bigger than life itself." http://www.billboard.com/column/chartbeat/...tory?tag=hpfeed Quote

RLAAMJR. Posted December 11, 2010 at 01:49 AM Posted December 11, 2010 at 01:49 AM I still couldn't believe that "It's All Coming Back To me Now" didn't become number 1. Quote
CelineAndRene Posted December 11, 2010 at 02:54 AM Posted December 11, 2010 at 02:54 AM I've always been extremely curious as to how Garth Brooks sold so many albums.. I don't find him that good. Especially that many albums... I hate US charts. She needs to be #1 everywhere Thanks for the info!! Quote "...It's the circle of life. You gotta look forward. Two days during the year there's nothing you can do about: yesterday and tomorrow. Today is a great day." - Celine Dion, People.
manolo19 Posted December 11, 2010 at 05:08 AM Posted December 11, 2010 at 05:08 AM I still couldn't believe that "It's All Coming Back To me Now" didn't become number 1. AGREED! It's weird , everybody loves that song , even Celine haters, I just think BYLM was too popular so IACBTMN suffered from it Quote
Nmj Posted December 11, 2010 at 05:52 AM Posted December 11, 2010 at 05:52 AM BYLM i think is her biggest hit besides MHWGO Quote
duri Posted December 11, 2010 at 08:59 AM Posted December 11, 2010 at 08:59 AM Well Céline is absolutly album seller and no nb1 hits topper. If we compare how succesful her albums were, there si very very few NB.1 hits. Quote http://www.supermusic.sk/obrazky/80543_Celine%209.jpg
Sofie Posted December 11, 2010 at 09:15 AM Posted December 11, 2010 at 09:15 AM I still couldn't believe that "It's All Coming Back To me Now" didn't become number 1. AGREED! It's weird , everybody loves that song , even Celine haters, I just think BYLM was too popular so IACBTMN suffered from it It's weird because it's a song that even non-fans knows. Though BYLM was the megahit from that album, that may be the reason. Quote
loveyouceline Posted December 11, 2010 at 10:36 AM Posted December 11, 2010 at 10:36 AM I think BYLM is more meaningful... Quote http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc4/hs922.snc4/73590_165568513461072_100000237733148_448778_802415_n.jpg

It's weird , everybody loves that song , even Celine haters, I just think BYLM was too popular so IACBTMN suffered from it American artists could always get a lot of number 1 songs in the billboards. I am pretty sure a lot of poeple requested IACBTMN as well as a lot of people bought the album because of IACBTMN. And it still didn't top the charts. Quote

Bellamy Posted December 12, 2010 at 01:28 PM Posted December 12, 2010 at 01:28 PM Weird to see the "Celine Dion" album is the third best selling album. Cause it's not the best known Celine album. Maybe people buy the album for her name mostly? Quote Please support the forum by ordering everything through our special Amazon.com link Click here. Thank you!

ajguerras Posted December 12, 2010 at 03:08 PM Posted December 12, 2010 at 03:08 PM As we can see, TAST is still her best card in the market... time for a TAST II ??? Quote I need someone to loves m like Celine loved René... And just like she sang in LTAL track # 16, I ask for that exact same thingwww.twitter.com/ajguerras
Chula Posted December 13, 2010 at 06:18 AM Posted December 13, 2010 at 06:18 AM "It's All Coming Back To me Now" failed to reach number 1 owing to 'Unbreak My Heart' Quote
Xpresso Posted December 14, 2010 at 12:50 AM Posted December 14, 2010 at 12:50 AM That's right, It's All Coming Back to Me Now was stuck at #2 for many weeks if I remember correctly. It's still a hit!! A top 10 song is a major success anyway... Quote
WCD199317 Posted February 27, 2018 at 04:29 PM Posted February 27, 2018 at 04:29 PM I can't believe more copies of Unison were sold than Taking Chances! Nice little write up though In fact, the sales of Unison has only due of the success of the next albums of the singer, because the sales has been very low originally (depiste the success of Where Does My Heart Beat Now). Because at the end of 1991, at the end of promotion, the album sold 400 000 copies in Canada and only 275 000 copies in US. . Quote
