Classic Kids TV Shows (focus on the 1980's)

The greatest decade for kids TV shows was surely the 1980's (and okay, maybe the early 90's too)

So many wonderful shows were created, many of which are still fondly remembered today. Here's your chance to relive those years. Post any themesongs, videoclips, pictures of your favourite shows.

 

Perhaps you'll remind someone of a show they haven't thought of in years, or make us laugh with some terrible bit of nonsense that should have remained forgotten in the anals of time.

Thundercats, the coolest a kid's show could get.

Storybook International. Each week there would be a live action fairytale type story played out (always dubbed quite badly) Some of the stories were great. The intro was this little ditty sung by the animated "narrator" of the tales. This show was highly marketable in several different countries. (This is the American version of the intro)

Hmm I sort of remember Care Bears (Care Bear SHINE!) and I did enjoy watching He-Man.

I love looking at the old intro's!

 

I can't really remember this all series, but I do remember watching it all the time and the intros are making it all coming back to me now!

Sorry I only know the dutch ones! LOL

 

And these intros are making the difference so much more clear with the tv shows today! today's shows are so violent!

Jem and the Holograms

 

Oke oke the drawings suck, the story lines were way too sappy, but damn the music was awesome!

Selling the dolls together with cassettes including the songs was just brilliant!

Good selections so far guys. Nice to see the Dutch versions of shows too. I remember Teddy Ruxpin, he wasn't the most exciting of cartoons, but I sooo wanted the toy for stories at night, it was so posh!

I loved Dungeons & Dragons, great show. And I wondered how long it would take for the fabulous Jem to get a mention.
