No, they added Elvis into the video afterwards. I saw a clip soon afterwards explaing how they did it. There was even a body double for the shots from behind! So I have no idea how many takes Celine had to do, but there was no Elvis standing next to her when she was singing. However, they probably had Elvis' vocals playing during the recording, so it was still a duet to the audience

even though these are projected images on transparent screen, the spotlights are real which are located across the hall

The Sarah Brightman effects weren’t holograms. It was just a mirror on a 45 degree angle.

didn't she use some form of technology to produce 3D renderings when she stood behind the huge screen though? the mirror wasn't angled throughout the whole show.

You are correct. Brightman used a combination of the mirror technique as well as holographic images. Here are some personal photos of mine from her symphony tour:

 

 

 

The stage had a drop down in middle. The first picture shows Sarah laying on the "mirror" that then projected her on screen shown in the second picture. The third picture shows the "holographic" image technology.

 

I personally did not care for the show. Harem was a much better production without the expense of the holographs.

 

I hope that TeamCeline can get this right!

The added image (what your referring to as Holograms i.e white christmas trees) are just projected onto the mirror using a projector.

Whether this technology is the same, different, or will be fused in Celine's show is beyond me. Maybe I am missing some technical nuance, but from what I read- This company produced Holographic Screen Images for the Symphony tour.
