This is the Adult Pop list. A lot of you are confusing it with the Adult Contemporary chart (which as you can see, Celine dominates with 13 top 10 hits). The songs on this list are listed in chronological order (the date they reached #1). In this case, they are saying Train made the 100th #1 on the list. Mariah is the first artist on the list because she reached #1 around the same time they began surveying this chart. Had BYLM been released as a single before Mariah and Hootie & the Blowfish's songs, then Celine would have probably been first...but it really doesn't matter in this case. I have no idea how they come up with the list, but all of these songs have been #1 on the Hot 100 and have been extremely popular with adult listeners. Quote

Bellamy explained perfectly already, it's not a chart. And it's not adult contemporary either. It is a chronological Adult Pop chart list. It just says than X song made it to Nº 1 in that chart, in Y date. Mariah First, Celine third, and Train 100th. If IACBTMN, MHWGO or ANDHC are not on this list, it is because they were not Nº1's on the Adult Pop chart. Quote

Also they left off Sophie B Hawkins' "As I Lay Me Down" and Del Amitri's "Roll to Me." Yes, this chart is in order of when the songs hit #1. BYLM is Celine's only #1 on the Adult Pop Chart (also known as Hot AC or Adult Top 40). It's All Coming Back to me Now peaked at #2 and My Heart Will Go On peaked at #3. Quote
