Idina Menzel Born 1971' is an incredible singer of Broadway and Pop.

 

This song sounds very Celine and her voice is reminicent.

She sings a duet with Rhydian Roberts from the X-Factor 2007 runner up

called What If a cover of Kate Winslet song.

 

Rhydian sounds like Josh Groban he is a tenor i think.

She is awesome i love her...She starrs in Glee as Rachel Berry Biologial mother and vocaltrainer for Vocal Adrenaline..

I had to revive this topic because I've become such a huge Idina fan over the last few months, and I think she has a lot of similarities to Celine -- a huge, powerful voice that she loves to use in intense power ballads, and a spectacular command of the stage. I got to see her live on Broadway this weekend in If/Then, and it was AMAZING. The song "Starting Over" in particular -- the "eleven o'clock" number -- was just a completely amazing showstopper! This was the best audio I could find of it (go to 1:40 in particular for the amazingness):

She finally has her own thread! I thought her Oscars performance had a few weak notes in it. I felt really bad for her. I bet she was very nervous. I've heard her live about 5 times and she's fantastic. I'm just glad she sang live and she wasn't told she had use a track like some of these high profile shows make people do.

I'm really excited to see what else has in store for her. She has the Holiday Wishes album but I don't start to listen to holiday music until Black Friday.

To me she just sounds like she doesn't know how to use her voice properly. Not saying she's a bad singer, just not great. I find she strains alot when she sings. I did like her recent performance with Jennifer Nettles though. For the most part, I can't stand her voice because most of the time she doesn't use her vocal instrument properly.

 

That's just my opinion though. I will admit, she has gotten a bit better at her technique recently, but it's very hit or miss with her performances.

I love her voice because it has such a warm, rich sound to it. She also has such a powerful voice (like Celine) and her two most famous songs (Defying Gravity and Let it Go) are so empowering!
