thesupernova Posted May 29, 2010 at 06:17 PM Posted May 29, 2010 at 06:17 PM In anticipation of Celine's new Vegas show and the hundreds (maybe thousands) of Celine fans that will be descending upon Las Vegas in less than a year I thought I'd show everyone how to make their own postcards to send home (or wherever). Myself and Ellinger have sent out tons using both methods. Last September we were in Montreal and sent over 60 to all corners of the world:) ***I believe a stamp for a postcard that's going outside the states is $.98 You essentially have 2 options. 1 - When you're in Vegas if you take a picture of something, you can take your camera to anywhere that prints out pictures (if you have a digital camera you can just print out the pictures you want to send). It's usually less than $1 at places like Walgreens (there are a bunch of locations in Las Vegas). Once you have your picutre printed out, you apply to the back a "Postcard Backing". This will make your photo stiff like a real postcard and has sections for the address and whatever you want to write. Here's the website I use: http://www.the2buds.com/suph2pc.htm They have pretty quick shipping if you're in the States. I think on average when I've ordered from them it's taken about a week. The other cool thing about the postcard backings is that you can print on the back of them. Here's a pic I've used:http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v700/thesupernova/n1658468947_50947_2269.jpg The thing to remember though is whatever pic you use needs to be light enough so that the address is readable. You can make them black and white and lighter in colour using just about any photoshop program. I prefer Gimp. It's pretty simple and more importantly free. 2 - you can design your own and order them thru a website. Most of the ones we sent out were with this method. This method is cool because you can pretty much do whatever you want. Here are some examples of postcards I've made: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v700/thesupernova/celinekayaking56.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v700/thesupernova/celineglobe1-1.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v700/thesupernova/770250993_3fdc1e8ad7_o.jpg And just like with the postcard backings, you can print on the back of them with a lighter image to add a little more pizazz to your postcard. Here's the website we use: http://www.photobox.co.uk/shop They also make custom stickers. Here's the photoshopping program I used for the above pics: www.gimp.orgAnd I use: www.picnik.com to mess around with the colouring of the globe one. Ok, so that's about it...if anyone has any questions, please let me know...I'm more than happy to help spread celine love all over the world:) Quote http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v700/thesupernova/gifs/celinechez-1.gif
