SuperLove4Celine Posted May 5, 2010 at 06:32 PM Posted May 5, 2010 at 06:32 PM Today is Cinco de Mayo. I'm sure Céline loves today since it's all about the number 5! With that said, what is your favorite Celine Spanish song? - SL4C PS: I put "other" in the polls in case there is a song I have missed. Quote

SuperLove4Celine Posted May 5, 2010 at 07:23 PM Author Posted May 5, 2010 at 07:23 PM My favorite is "Aun existe amor" while "Mejor decir adios" is my least favorite. I would LOVE for Celine to record an all-Spanish album someday as this would potentially give her the perfect time to do a duet with Gloria Estefan. Quote
lindsey22 Posted May 5, 2010 at 08:43 PM Posted May 5, 2010 at 08:43 PM (edited) its not 2 fives thats her lucky charm its 3 so just remember thatI dont want Celine to record any other spanish records because she doesnt pronounce the words well and it sounds a bit harsh . i want Celine to sing only in french and engliahi wish she would learn herself Brazilian language because it is very beautiful. it sounds like these people are singing . the brazilian culture is very simple , poor and kind and everyone living in brazil is honest and happy, even if they are poor. maybe Celine's brazilian song could reflect that way of those people. Aun existe amor --- I still don't get why she rerecorded LAEE No --- I don't like Spanish enough! PLUS she already has an English and French career with low interest, so why would we want a third one :P and euhm to the poster above, don't they speak Portuguese in Brazil? MAMACITA! must to mean that she is learning spanish because she applies that world in a perfect sense!... I mean...she knows perfectly what it means! LOL Mamacita!! OT: FYI cinco de mayo is about Mexico defeating France in a battle...back in 1862 and is not even a big holiday in Mexico as it is in USA. Some years ago, I made myself the same question, and I have found that AMERICANS celebrate this because, when Mexico's army won the battle to the France army, the Americans were saved from a French invasion, which really was the French intention to invade the United States.Cinco de Mayo not only recalls a victoryfor Mexico, but also represents the triumph of the "indians" people against foreign conquerors. UN MUNDO BASTANTE REVUELTO EN AQUELLOS TIEMPOS!!!!(TODOS CONTRA TODOS!!!) its not 2 fives thats her lucky charm its 3 so just remember thatI dont want Celine to record any other spanish records because she doesnt pronounce the words well and it sounds a bit harsh . i want Celine to sing only in french and engliahi wish she would learn herself Brazilian language because it is very beautiful. it sounds like these people are singing . the brazilian culture is very simple , poor and kind and everyone living in brazil is honest and happy, even if they are poor. maybe Celine's brazilian song could reflect that way of those people. well I think that CELINE pronounce spanish VERY WELL INDEED... , in fact nowadays, after all the time she spent in the USA, her ENGLISH is veeeery "FRENCH" accent, so it will be very normal that her SPANISH has "french" style... wish I would love!... but believe me...her spanish songs are very well pronounced and I'm sure if Celine recorded in Spanish would be a great success! She wanted to start then a career for the spanish/latin market and there were even plans for a spanish version of ANDHC to be used in a soap opera. Of course, all these plans went directly to bin when Las Vegas show was confirmed (and then extended in 2006 ) Quote "Hush, now... I see a light in the sky"

Bell Posted May 6, 2010 at 02:39 PM Posted May 6, 2010 at 02:39 PM My favourite is 'Aun existe amor' 'cause it's a version of 'L'amour existe encore' which I adore. Least favourite - 'Amar haciendo el amor'. It's not bad but I don't like it that much. As for Celine recording a whole album in Spanish, I'd rather say no. Quote 16 YEARS A FORUM MEMBER

Is all the reaction that she produces you in spanish? I've got nothing against spanish. I even work with a spanish woman who is trying to teach me. Beautiful language. But I really think she should stick with french and english. That is enough in my opinion. And her spanish songs haven't interrested me at all so far. It's difficult enough for me to try to learn french to understand her songs. Quote
maceta_biloxi Posted May 7, 2010 at 01:35 PM Posted May 7, 2010 at 01:35 PM Let's see My favorite song in spanish is Aun Existe Amor, such a soft ballad with a lot of emotion, and the accent is almost flawless. My less favorite is Sola Otra Vez, in spanish the song is basically just for women, in english it has that unisex touch.I don't know if an spanish album is right for Celine but I would definitely like to hear the spanish version of Have You Ever Been In Love, that it's supposed to be recorded, stored and forgotten somewhere in the Sony studios. As far as the accent goes, she has a great accent in spanish. The song with more accent is Mejor Decir Adios, but since it's her first song in spanish is very understandable, but the rest of the songs you can not even tell that a french canadian who doesn't speak spanish is singing. Matias Posted May 8, 2010 at 06:50 AM Posted May 8, 2010 at 06:50 AM (edited) Well I speak spanish (I live in Argentina, South America) And I don't like any of her spanish songs ( her spanish is VERY good, but sounds odd and harsh at some points) let her sing in english and french, NONE of her spanish songs were a hit even in spanish speaking countries...so it would be a waste of time, she is barely paying attention to her french & english music and you want her to embrace spanish now??? Gosh.... Edited May 8, 2010 at 06:50 AM by Matias Quote http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_maic6m257V1rbfceqo2_250.gif"No no, put it back..."
