Edwin Posted March 8, 2010 at 04:59 PM Posted March 8, 2010 at 04:59 PM Oke, I saw Alice this weekend and it was friggin awesome! It's the classic storyline with great visual effects and excellent acting. Helen Bonham Carter KILLED as the Red Queen! I was afraid that Johnny Depp's Mad Hatter would be too over the top, but it really wasn't at all! Very good movie for those of you debating to see it or not. What did everyone else think? Quote
celinedream Posted March 8, 2010 at 06:41 PM Posted March 8, 2010 at 06:41 PM thanks for opening the topic! i've been a fan of the 1st Disney version since i was a little girl, now this version was a bit too dark for my taste, but i enjoyed Depp's performance a lot and the 3D experience was really entertaining. i had no idea it was Avril singing at the end until you mentioned it in the other topic Quote An angel was looking through,It was you,Yeah you...it'sYou are the REASON.
Shamrock_1982 Posted March 8, 2010 at 06:56 PM Posted March 8, 2010 at 06:56 PM I loved it... but thought it was pointless in 3D unlike avatar which was incredible in 3D....I loved Johnny Depp, and the crazy brown rabbit made me wet myself, lol....Also really liked the ''twins'', Helena bored me, they could have found another actress...... but on the whole it was really good, although the ending was a bit disappointing and cheesy! Darren. Quote
Belle Céline Posted March 8, 2010 at 07:20 PM Posted March 8, 2010 at 07:20 PM I LOVED Helena as the Red Queen! She was amazing! She was the whole reason I saw the movie! Quote “There’s nothing I love more than the romance of a night in the theater.”http://i39.tinypic.com/ws0due.png
Shamrock_1982 Posted March 8, 2010 at 08:37 PM Posted March 8, 2010 at 08:37 PM My fav. line from the movie, that I've been using quite alot this week is '' You're awfully late, you know..... naughty!'' lmao Darren. Quote
Edwin Posted March 8, 2010 at 08:47 PM Author Posted March 8, 2010 at 08:47 PM Matt Lucas was so awesome as the twins. I've liked him from Little Britain and I didn't know he was in Alice! My only problem now is I can't get Avril Lavigne's "Alice" outta my head. I've listened to it almost 100 times this weekend "You've lost your muchness" Quote
Lian Posted March 8, 2010 at 08:47 PM Posted March 8, 2010 at 08:47 PM I'll see it this thursday with my friends.. Now you got my hopes up so if I hate it, I can blame you Quote http://img227.imageshack.us/img227/368/ploep.pngThe earth is our mother, we must take care of herThe earth is our mother, she will take care of us
Alex_Incognito Posted March 8, 2010 at 11:45 PM Posted March 8, 2010 at 11:45 PM It was okay. The story was so-so, but it was visually brilliant. I would have preferred that they recreate the story. It lacked the cleverness of the story (or even the Disney movie). Quote "People pay 20-25 dollars to see you."- Céline Dion, 1990
ladylindsey Posted March 9, 2010 at 10:26 AM Posted March 9, 2010 at 10:26 AM Tim Burton is genius. I just love his crazy mind. "You're mad, bonkers...but I'll tell you a secret. The best people are." Loved Helena! "he tried to kill me right then!" ahahaha and the so very nonchalant way she said "Off with his head" and pointed in the opposite direction. The crazy little brown hare hahahaha "xduiajhduduimdjds...SPOON!" I almost wish it had been even darker. The original poetry borders fanciful and frightening. I would love to have seen it pushed even farther. There are no words for Johnny- he's always been one of my favorite actors. He's so weird and I love it. "Twas brillig...." ahhh I loved that, wish it had been darker! Quote

Lian Posted March 11, 2010 at 09:19 PM Posted March 11, 2010 at 09:19 PM I liked it But wasn't completely bowled over by it, or something. I just completely fell in love with that old brown rabbit. I sooooo recognized myself in him (dunno if that's a good thing..) Crystal2042 Posted March 12, 2010 at 04:10 AM Posted March 12, 2010 at 04:10 AM I went to the midnight showing on Thursday and I was kind of torn about it. Johnny Depp was great (but then again, isn't he always?? ) I also really love Helena, but wasn't amazed by her in this movie. I actually kinda liked Anne Hathaway a bit more. I didn't love the movie, but I think it's definitely worth seeing Quote
dj4celine Posted March 12, 2010 at 04:05 PM Posted March 12, 2010 at 04:05 PM OMD, I want to go see this movie but none of my friends want to go with me and both my cousins are busy I don't want to go alone to see it either Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Quote
Macaronie Posted March 12, 2010 at 08:52 PM Posted March 12, 2010 at 08:52 PM I went alone. I prefer seeing movies alone. Quote

Salla Posted March 13, 2010 at 05:06 PM Posted March 13, 2010 at 05:06 PM I'm taking the kids (well, teens ) at work to see it tonight. I'm making two of the boys come with us and bribed them with popcorn. But hopefully they'll like it, so I can be all "SEE! I told you you'd like it!!!" Quote
Raevaz Posted March 16, 2010 at 02:07 AM Posted March 16, 2010 at 02:07 AM Just got back from watching it and I loved it! It was really amazing, especially since it was in IMAX 3D.. I can't wait to see Hubble 3d Quote
hazard211 Posted March 26, 2010 at 03:50 AM Posted March 26, 2010 at 03:50 AM I loved it... but thought it was pointless in 3D unlike avatar which was incredible in 3D.... I know what you mean, sometimes I forgot I was watching it in 3D.Overall the movie was okay, I just felt like it was missing something..
