Will there be an Opening Night TV Special

i don't know but really hope so! She has to promote it somehow and if there is now new album there ought to be at least some part of the show on tv but the time will only show...

The Oprah special was recorded on March 15, 2003 (10 days before opening night) but it was only a short preview show. Celine performed The Power of Love, Seduces Me, If I Could and I Drove All Night. Here's a scan of the ticket:

Oh that's wicked! And did they record the stuff for the CBS special the same day. btw did they air Seduces Me cause I've seen IDAN, POL and IIC but never Seduces Me

With the theme of the new show being that of Hollywood movies and their songs, I firmly believe it would be insane and to a degree irresponsible to not have a TV special. Whether or not that special is Opening Night or not is another story.

okay so nvm Thomas had already answered my question which was no the CBS special was recorded March 17-20 but I failed to understand that till now even though I had re-read it like a million times since *sigh* that's what you get when your brain is so slow

i dont think there is going to be a tv special because the networks figure she wont rake in the ratings like those young stars like lady gaga or justin beiber. this isnt the same era as AND opening night. and furthermore the promoters aren't worried about selling the tickets. they are already sold out

I'm pretty sure there's going to be an Oprah special since it's Oprah's last year and Céline is coming back with a new show and all, I think it would make sense. The rehersals are only starting on the 26th of February but apparently, she did go to Vegas recently to work on the show. An opening night special would really be amazing!

and sorry to go off topic BUT for those of you on about the Justin Timberlake Thing , OMG Is it anywhere on the forum?.... back in the day when my sister was a mild(haha) Fan of Celine she recorded something on T.V. And I remember seeing Celine with short blonde hair and like a black suit or something talking to Justin. then we got rid of the channel that it was recorded from so we couldn't watch it anymore and i have been looking for it ever since!!! :(

I just think it's so odd that they didn't show any footage from the premiere at the TV special because there were so many huge tv cameras all over and they were making sure people didn't walk infront of them.

perhaps with Ken Elrich producing the show and his ties to the Grammys and other Celine Specials in the past he can pull some strings and get her a special on CBS.. hmm..

With the first x amount of shows already sold out it would probably make better sense for them to do a special right before the next batch of shows go on sale.
