:thumbsup2: I remember this as the b-side on celine's think twice single. I loved it so much and listened to it more than TT!!!!! Would love to hear what you all think? I loved the medley starmania on A L'Olympia too :)

that is how I first heard it. On the b-side of the single Think Twice. I liked it very much. Much later I found out it was on the album Dion Chante Plamandon ( the one with the painted celine-cover).

That singer who covered that song died long ago, tho.

Amazing amazing rendition.

Wish she were alive today.

btw recently Le monde est stone was performed for Haïti... and I think that the too much vocal violance kills it... but musically... it would fit perfectly in the New Show! :wub2:

I feel much better now too. That skin tone fits me and I have less problems with the tough Mozambiquian sun.

i luv it...it's much of a classic

Darf ich leben ohne Grenzen?

Lieben, trotz der Konsequenzen?

Darf ich meine Träume leben?

Meinem Feind die Hände geben?

Darf ich mein schwarzes Herz verschenken?

Darf ich für mich selber denken?

Thanks Davey I had miss that on Radio-Canada. Of course it's very special as they made it into something different here by blending opera and pop-rock singers for this event. When five powerful singers join forces, of course it can get "violent" if you wish to call it that. :giggle: To me "c'était un beau clin d'oeil" to think of doing this with those women that night I thought.

For those interested here are some infos. All those singers were at one point through the years in a Starmania version. Recently there was a symphonic opera version of Starmania in Montréal(it was shown in France too and elsewhere maybe) and the first singer here(opera singer Marie-Josée Lord) was the interpreter in this opera version. All the others who gathered here for this song are Québec singers that each took part at one time in Starmania since it was created in 1978. Luce Dufault(who played Marie-Jeanne and sung it between 1993 and 1995), Patsy Gallant(who played Stella Spotlight from 1993 to 2001), Martine St-Clair(who played Cristal in 1980 and in 1988), Judith Bérard(who played Cristal from 1993 to 1996). I thought it was very nice that they would put this together with all those previous Starmania singers for Haïti.

The first interpreter of this song was Québec singer Fabienne Thibeault. She's the one who made it a hit originally. I think she's more of an agricultural activist than a singer these days, she lives in France now since many years. I don't think she would still be able to sing it today unfortunately, as she wasn't able to do so already even many years ago.

Of course Céline's version on Dion chante Plamondon was and still is a gem of this classic. And Davey, Céline could still sing this accapella part anyday trust me. It was very easy for her to do this. It always got people very excited to hear a "real" singer like Céline do this back than and it still does today whenever she sings accapella I guess.. :D

Finally I loved those medley she did back than and I love her version of Le monde est stone but this song, to me, has been sung so many times, time and time again.... I know I'm kind of tired of it myself and wouldn't wish to hear Céline doing it again. Been there, done that imo.
