The Show Must Go On - Studio

Hi,

Was just wondering, new album in the summer perhaps we'll get a studio version of The Show Must Go On.

If you stayed till the end of Through The Eyes Of The World, you'll hear it on the end credits and it sounds like it was recorded in a studio, perhaps it'll be on the new album or a live album of some sorts? A bit like You & I was on the vegas live album.

 

Any thoughs? news?

I don't think that was a new studio version... It was just edited so that there was no applause at the beginning or end. It sounded like it came from the soundboard. I think if Céline did a studio version, she would probably cut the ad libs before the choruses (where she says things like "Here we go!" and "Let's do it!")

I was told she was doing a new tour version of the song ''my love'', in the studio, so she may have done other stuff!

She also mentioned The Show Must Go On on Radio 2 during her promotion for TC, and said she was lucky to have worked with Queen and would be singing that song on tour...I dunno if 'working with Queen' means recording a song, or if it just meant getting permission...I'd love her to record it

Song for you could go a miss on this album it was just on Taking Chances, i'd love to see Let your heart decide on the album though, such a good song!

 

I'd also like to see Hallelujah with the Canadian Tenors I thought that was great

I can't wait to have this song on CD. It was so amazing hearing it in "Celine: Through The Eyes Of The World." I never got to see it during the tour because it had been cut by the time she made it to San Jose.

"Show must go on" has always been one of my favorite songs to begin with So when Celine started to sing it, I absolutely went insane! Hearing her sing that, is magical! I waited and waited, and I was so excited to hear Celine sing it on the day of my TC concert, but she didnt...I was sad, but no matter what Celine sings, I'm happy with it! I would LOVE it, if she recorded "Show must go on" for the new album!!! ahhh I'm hoping she does!

Watch the documentary and you'll notice every performance sounds crisp and clear to the point to where you could make an arguement the entire thing is dubbed over with studio vocals. Now, for some of the songs (TSMGO included)....I don't think that's the case.

If she decides to record this song in studio I truly wish for it to have proper production. And not given the same kind of treatment Alone got. Alone sounded much better on tour, even with the "cheap" sound the instrumental parts of her performances tend to get on tours.

 

Alone's production was ok, nothing more nothing less. TSMGO must get a treament that is above ok, it diserves that. The song itself, Queen and Céline's passion for Queen diservers that.

 

I don't whine about Céline's vocals in the studio version of Alone. Believe me they were great. But great vocals is not meassuring up for mediocre production. I see her voice as a beautiful wrapping paper, and the production the structure on which the paper is applied. You can't turn a package in the shape of a bike look like a Ferrari only by the help of the wrapping paper and make it convinsing.

I would never want to hear Let Your Heart Decide released on an album. I feel like the lyrics make no sense...I get what they were trying to say with the words..but they would have phrased the song better. "How am I gonna stop it if you wanna give it all to love" WAY to many syllables...and what is this "it" that she can't stop? Just doesn't make sense. I feel like it was a total mockery of Tous les secrets.

Indeed indeed. It sounds very B, like a little child has written the lyrics. They squeeze too much together. I am surprised she managed to sing it and not sprain her tongue. So respect for that, Céline!

I have taken a few of her french songs and written much better lyrics than that. My most proud are the lyrics I wrote to "Retiens-moi"...I've tried with Tous les secrets, no luck though. But my lack of words is even better than the lyrics for Let Your Heart Decide lol

The Show Must Go On was my favorite preformance on TTEOTW 1. Because it was AMAZING! 2. Because she didn't preform it in Atlanta when i saw her..... I still for the credits gave me chills!! I would love for it to be recorded or on an album of some sort!
