The superlove phenomenon

When I heard that song the first time, I thought it was the worst Celine song Ever, coz It did not reach her voice and quality standards, So I was happy it was just a bonus track on AD Cd.

After some time, I started to like it and find it fun. Now I think it is the only really different song Celine has ever done, and the most weird of them. I think her voice sounds so cool, it has too many chorus and it is very creative in its vocals and weird sounds. Lyrics are very "teen" too. So sad it was not in the US version of the album, I guess It did not match the rest of it, but could have been a bonus there,

 

Does she needs more songs like this one to get a really different sound ????

Yeah. Here in Brazil it's on the oficial tracklist and not as a bonus. First I thought it was a little bit weird but now we can see it has a lot of sense with nowadays sounds. I'm always happy when she tries something different. Better than stand always in the same place, doing the same thing...

By the way, I love the bridge of this song. Very strong beat!

I loooooooove Superlove!! It was one of my favorite song on the album right from the beginning.

 

I want more songs like that. I usually love her upbeat songs

As you could probably tell from my Celine Dion Forum handle "Super Love" is one of my favorites that Celine has done throughout her career. It's funky, fresh, and hip. The lyrics are pretty straightforward, but not every song has to have metaphors and such to convey a message. I truly do hope she will perform this song live one day and that it will gain momentum. That probably won't happen seeing as it's not been x-amount of years since the song's release, but one can dream can't they?

 

 

Edit: I've never understood why there are two different "typings" of the title. On the official album it's listed as "Super Love" (two words), but on the promos it gets listed as one word, "Superlove" (one word). What is the "correct" spelling?

i like that song, it is hip and fresh... but I don't like your avatar sorry.. I like Celine, and she is beautiful on a lot of pictures but this one is annoying and does not look attractive too. When I read some posts here I see that constantly moving and moving..don't like it. And I don't like how she is looking there..sorry..matter of taste maybe!

 

However, When the wrong one loves you right is a nice catchy song too!

I like Superlove because it reminds me of Treat Her Like a Lady. Props for Celine for trying something new, but neither one of them are really good songs. I love them both because they're so ridiculous that you almost can't believe she seriously recorded them.

I really love that song! So uplifting, and I love its rhythm. And yes, I also find some similarities to "Treat her like a lady". Those two should have been released as singles! Just like "Shadow of Love"... and I think she should have at least 2 songs like that on every album. I'd also like to hear something like that in French!

I do believe THLAL was released as a single. A physical one even, if I am not remembering all wrong.

 

The fun thing about Superlove is that it was played on radio here right after the ANDHC album was released. And I thought "WTF is this I recognize this crap but from where", and it took me a while to make the connection to Céline's new album. I didn't like this song from the start but I soon changed my mind, it would had been fun to showcase this song more to the general public, but I am not sure it would had done well as a single. It sure is interesting though. Ironically the radio statio which played this track is the same that played Fade Away afte TC album was released...

I just can't get enough of this song. As the whole A New Day Has Come album, this song is great.

 

It is very different from the rest of her repertoire (one of those little gems she has I would say ). It's fresh, uptempo rythm and it has sounds she doesn't have at any other song. It combines perfect vocals with soft lines in the chorus . That's why this song is GREAT and rare at the same time.

 

But rarities and unknown songs are becoming the best ones in her discography it seems

I love Super Love! It was one of the very few catchy Céline songs that you either LOVE or not like at all in the first listen! I think Rain, Tax (It's Inevitable) is also that way!

At least they have been released, and its easy to get them today thanks to the Internet But what about all those other songs which have never been released, but we knoe they are there? That's difficult to bear with
