The Opening Number For The Show "Celine"

During "A New Day..."'s run there were two opening numbers: "Nature Boy" & "A New Day Has Come (Album/Ballad Version)." In your opinion, what song should be the opening number for the show "Celine?" My top three choices are as follows:

 

1) "Taking Chances" - A breathtaking image of Celine rising up from under the stage during the introductory guitar riff.

2) "It's All Coming Back To Me Now" - The image of Celine descending a staircase during the introductory piano solo while fog/mist creeps across the stage.

3) "Unison" - Open the show with a hot, dance number to get the audience pumped and jazzed about being at the concert. Celine would be in a hot, fiery red outfit while dancing with her band/orchestra, back-up singers, and dancers (if there will be any).

 

What do you all think?

I'd love it to be MHWGO, LCMM, BYLM, or any of the other stereotypical ones just to get them out of the way

 

Aside from that though, a mid-tempo could be nice!

We don't want Rene having ..........never mind. :whistling: That's like the BEST SONG IN THE WORLD though.

Yea should slow songs be for the ending? And tempo-ish songs for the beginning? To get the crowd people like.. happy? :sofunny:

 

I feel like watching AND now. Everything about the opening and closing of those shows was perfection.

I think they should compose a song specially for the opening of the New Show! Something slow at fast, but turning mid-tempo!

I voted for ''Unison'', but only because I really really want Celine to sing that song live again. I agree with Davey: she should open with a new song written for the show.

Oh and the song she doesn't need to sing at all: My heart will go on... (It's boring as hell :icon_mrgreen:)

well i dont' think i can choose now since we have only little info for the show so can't really decide but since it's about hollywood movie then probably something from a movie a theme song or so

Seeing as there will be a big orchestra, how about Declaration of Love? That would be a great opening to a show!! :w00t:

 

 

I was also thinking of I Know What Love Is, it's a beautiful song.

I think it should open with ''Thats the way it is'' a feel good mid/up tempo song, and it could start how the music video does, with different lights coming on to finally reveal Celine.... :)

 

Shes opened in vegas with two ballads over the 5 years, ''nb'' and ''andhc'' which were good, but its a new show and time for a change, and I think would get people in the mood for the show, because as we all know, this show will probably end on friggin ''mhwgo'' again, just like vegas and the last tour.... and '' Thats the way it is'' is probably one of her most recognisable and popular uptempo's, who knows maybe they could remix it like they did with ''ia''......?!?

 

Plus, ''Thats the way it is'' is my favourite Celine song, and its my dream to hear it live :P

I voted for "Then You Look At Me" simply for the reason that it's never been performed live and it would be great if we got some songs in the show that have never been performed live before. That and it's one of my favourite Celine songs that she's never performed.

 

Perhaps not a contender for opening number but I'd certainly like to see it included in the show especially if it's going to be a tribute to the movies.

Oh I would LOVE to hear "Then you look at me". I adore the song, it's not too slow, and I think it's a nice positive touch for the beginning. "That's the way it is" would also be good. Or maybe "Je ne vous oublie pas" - I agree that we need non-PQTME French songs (why on Earth does she assume we don't want to hear more French songs in non-French speaking countries?); and it should be something with a positive touch for the new beginning.

"That's The Way It Is" is definitely a great choice! I would have to say that would be my fourth option behind "Taking Chances," "It's All Coming Back To Me Now," and "Unison," with perhaps "You And I" being choice number five. :)

Definitely TTWII is one of her best songs, and her second-best uptempo song after ANDHC (Radio Remix) for me. :in_love:

And then I would vote for TYLAM too, but hey, you can only vote once! ^_^ And the non-fans would not recognise the song, sadly... so yeah, TTWII would be the best option for me.

I didnt vote but

 

i think i would choose LCMM, just to get it out of the way! Could you imagine it with a Orchestra and Choir and Then Celine arriving from under the stage that would be awesome, having said that i would want CELINE to perform this song in the 90s version with less screaming and more singing!!

I'm going to go against the grain the predict she will not open with a Celine song. She's hinting at some Hollywood movie tribute, and while I cannot imagine what this show will be like, I have a feeling it's going to be more mellow than A New Day and probably include more songs that aren't from Celine's catalog.

"Mellow" We need upbeat but a concert not a show!!! That would sell VEGAS out night after night....Kinda like TC Tour with different songs and different mini skirts, Jeans, etc
