dlh1 Posted February 12, 2010 at 09:38 PM Posted February 12, 2010 at 09:38 PM Hi all, This might not be relevant to a lot of you. But I'm interested in photography and was wondering if anyone knew what cameras and lenses Gerard Schachmes used during Celine's World Tour? You might also know if there has been any articles about him and what settings he used to take pictures of Celine? Again, this might not be very relevant but I'm a photographer and I'm really interested. Thanks guys, Dan Quote
Teodora Posted February 12, 2010 at 09:42 PM Posted February 12, 2010 at 09:42 PM All the info is the book with the tourpics. I don't have it at hand right now, I'll try to make a scan for you tomorrow. I don't remember details, just that he uses Nikon, about 3 or 4 cameras if I remember corectly and lots of lenses... Will get back at you with details tomorrow, if no one else does in the meantime. Quote
dlh1 Posted February 12, 2010 at 09:56 PM Author Posted February 12, 2010 at 09:56 PM wow thank you so much. I haven't got the book yet. I'm waiting for an English version so thanks for letting me know. I look forward to seeing your scans. Quote
Frida Posted February 12, 2010 at 10:00 PM Posted February 12, 2010 at 10:00 PM The only thing Autour du monde mentions is that his 3 cameras are Nikon D3's, no specs on the Nikkor lenses etc Quote http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p234/celinedion_56/tcc2copy3_zps08f18352.pnghttp://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p234/celinedion_56/tccgallery-1.png

Bumble Posted February 12, 2010 at 11:24 PM Posted February 12, 2010 at 11:24 PM He uses profesional DSLR's nikon bodies with lot of pro lenses whith ultrasonic motors autofocus, wide apertures for faster shots . He also loves wide angles. And if you want more detail, you need the book and a magnifying glass.. Canon rules i cant stand the UI for Nikon though Gerard's pictures are stunning, i have to admit. guess thats one of the plus points of having one of the super expensive cameras; you get super high ISO settings Quote
dlh1 Posted February 13, 2010 at 10:39 AM Author Posted February 13, 2010 at 10:39 AM Yeah I know my camera has an ISO of 3,200 - his is like 28,000 or something like that I read. Quote

I think Nikon D3 should be fine up to 1,600 or 3,200. Quote Please support the forum by ordering everything through our special Amazon.com link Click here. Thank you!
browseceline Posted February 13, 2010 at 10:54 AM Posted February 13, 2010 at 10:54 AM hey Dan, There is a picture in the last pages of the book with all the camera's on a bed.But think we are not allowed to post those pictures here. So I guess you either should wait for the book in English,or , like I did, buy the French one instead ;-) and - ok this is not - on-topic, butI thought, so many People had the privilage to go on photo with Celine, and she always wears those ugly big glasses,so wouldn't it be nice to see her eyes too? Teodora Posted February 13, 2010 at 10:21 PM Posted February 13, 2010 at 10:21 PM (edited) Here you go! He uses Nikon D3 it seems, not Nikon D3X, so just 12,1 MP, not 24.5 MP. Personally, I prefer Canon. Worked with both, both make great cameras, I just get along with Canon better. http://img159.imagevenue.com/loc401/th_99812_IMG_122_401lo.jpgHope you can make out exactly what lenses he has. dlh1 Posted February 14, 2010 at 06:38 PM Author Posted February 14, 2010 at 06:38 PM Thanks for all the info everyone. I'm gonna start researching what lenses he uses and will report back. I do know that some of them cost more than twice the price of the actual camera! Quote

I do know that some of them cost more than twice the price of the actual camera!I paid more on my lens than on my camera too, and it's not even professional I wish I could afford a Canon 7D... But, since I'm not making money out of photography, I can't afford to pay all that money just for fun Edited February 14, 2010 at 06:55 PM by Teodora Quote
