I never noticed all the comments They are right about RC being behind in school. He'll be 19 when he finishes. Shame.Maybe he's really brainy and can skip a grade or 2 Quote
celinefan5 Posted February 10, 2010 at 02:27 PM Posted February 10, 2010 at 02:27 PM Thanks for the news...it's strange it says that RC is in the second grade...I know he does very well in school...maybe it's just a mistake? Quote
idroveallnight Posted February 10, 2010 at 02:34 PM Posted February 10, 2010 at 02:34 PM I've been waiting to see her on the cover of 'People' since her last full cover a decade ago. Sad it had to be under these circumstances though. Quote

At the risk of having my head sliced off, I have to say that having a kid at age 68 is not the smartest move Rene could make. Quote

Belle Céline Posted February 10, 2010 at 03:39 PM Posted February 10, 2010 at 03:39 PM (edited) If I can't make it out Friday to get to class then I may see if my friend can pick me up a copy if she goes to campus to teach. I definetly want a copy of this. How long is People on stands? Surely the roads will be better here by Monday, I could always get a copy then. Acacia Posted February 10, 2010 at 05:20 PM Posted February 10, 2010 at 05:20 PM Well, I'm happy she's getting publicity, but it seems like this story is going to get a lot of negative comments. People are so quick to criticize, and from the cover it sounds like they're blowing it out of portion. I know she was heartbroken about the miscarriage, but with the Access Hollywood interview she pretty much said that if it happens, it happens. Now maybe she's appearing stronger than she is, but I don't think she's laying at home every night crying about it. And I hate the comments about adoption. I don't know what her stance is, but for me I have no interest whatsoever in adoption. I'm adopted myself, and because of that I have my reasons for not wanting to adopt. People think it's horrible, but I have my reasons. Anyway, I hope the article isn't too brutal. I'm assuming Céline and René would have had a strong say in what gets published? Quote http://oi52.tinypic.com/2aaavxd.jpg ♥ Thank you, Céline for giving me the greatest birthday I could ask for! ♥

fyoung98 Posted February 10, 2010 at 05:49 PM Posted February 10, 2010 at 05:49 PM Well, I'm happy she's getting publicity, but it seems like this story is going to get a lot of negative comments. People think it's horrible, but I have my reasons. Anyway, I hope the article isn't too brutal. I'm assuming Céline and René would have had a strong say in what gets published? I was just thinking the same thing She even said people were making it sound like she was devastated but that she was ok, that she knew what the chances were. I think the title is a little misleading. As far as RC is concerned, he was home schooled and he's been traveling around the world. Maybe he's in second grade right now because he has to catch up with the curriculum of his current school. I don't understand why people make such comments without knowing all the facts. They don't know what kinds of arrangements have been made with school. Maybe he's in second grade to get used to the school experience, the social experience and then he'll be moved up. There are so many possibilities. Seems to me he would be ahead of a lot of the kids around him because of his traveling. I am a teacher and I am so for the "experential learning" experience. In my opinion, kids learn so much more this way, and actually REMEMBER what they saw and learned. I hope to do that with my own children. With regard to the adoption thing, I am learning more and more about what Celine is going through: the struggle to have a child. I haven't considered adoption because I want my own biological child. I could surely love a child who has been adopted, but in the back of my mind I will always know this child belonged to someone else. I don't want to do that to myself or the child. A church member who recently lost her husband (in December) is now in a legal battle over the adoption of the child they both have always wanted. Seeing her heartbreak is something I don't think I could ever deal with. Imagine what Celine would face if she ever decided to adopt. People are really cruel these days and with the economy being the way that it is now, people are even more desperate. Just my two cents. Belle Céline Posted February 10, 2010 at 05:59 PM Posted February 10, 2010 at 05:59 PM I'm assuming RC is behind a grade because he isn't to the academic level that the school would like him to be. His homeschooling academics were probably a lot different than what is taught at the school now. I know typically when a child enters public school after homeschooling they do a test to see what level the child is at academically so they know what grade to place them in so that they will do well and understand the material. Lawna Posted February 10, 2010 at 08:21 PM Posted February 10, 2010 at 08:21 PM Some people have mentioned about Rene being so old to have a child...well it's like Celine says "Love has no age" and also I feel this is great for Celine, she has always believed that the people around her will fade from her life because they are much older...now to have her biological child(ren)...I'm sure it assures her that she will have people in her life that she loves so much. =) Quote They go crazy for you because they know you're true. --Celine Dionhttp://i830.photobucket.com/albums/zz226/Congenialdiva/myspacelink.jpgFollow Me on Twitter!Visit Me on Facebook!
