Way to go Celine!! You show the rest of that lot, that you CELINE, the most down to earth, humble singer of them all,

and the most decent out of ALL those others, YOU BEAT them. You deserve it so much. LOVE YOU SO VERY MUCH. :flowers:

Now all we know why she wants to come back to Vegas :P

But I like seeing her at the top.

Great news!! But I wonder where they get the $522.2 million in concert-ticket sales in the last 10 years.

I thought she grossed over $400 million in Vegas and over 200 during the TC tour...?

exactly!!! i also wonder that same thing..

i am so happy for our queen..she's just awesome in every senses. :-D

i love her so very much.

LV earned $380M; TC tour made more than $140M in N.America. :thumbsup2:

Isn't this great?! Eminem may be Billboard's Artist of the Decade but Celine is the ULTIMATE Artist of the Noughties.

Wish the same could be said about her artistic revenue which is like... 2 or 3 pennies if you count D'elles. :shy:

Madonna's tour grosses and ticket sales in North America in the 00s

Tour Gross Attendance Capacity Shows Sellouts

Drowned World Tour $54,684,228 440,500 440,500 28 28

Reinvention Tour $79,500,054 553,505 553,505 39 39

The Confessions Tour $85,842,663 466,653 466,653 34 34

Sticky & Sweet Tour $91,551,961 579,457 579,457 28 28

Total $311,578,906 2,040,115 2,040,115 129 129

Thank you! Now we know that her 4 Tours combined together only grossed $311,578,906 in North America in the 00s. Also, her ''American Life'' & ''Hard Candy'' albums flopped hard in this continent so I'm not surprised to see that Madonna isn't in the Top10.

Celine is my idol

And Even if TC made only 1 million, I read on billboard last year that she is one of the top selling artist in the US with her old albums. She sells every year tons of her old CD's. I think she is the second or the third best selling artist or her catalog albums. So it probablly explains this amount for sales.

Contactmusic has picked it up.....Now it's only a matter of times till this spreads like fire!

FINALLY people will see Céline can be #1, once again B)

AH HA! IN YOUR FACE WHORIAH and Madonna! Thankyou oh so much for sharing! this is AWESOME!

How mature.

This is North American, right? Since it said it wouldn't have been able to count MJ's concert sales for This is It had he done them, since they were in London. Congrats, Celine!

actually MJ still would have not made that chart even if we was about to do the tour. He would have only worked for 3/4 of a year but Celine has worked for most of the decade and there's no way he can get that much money in so little time.

Celine has sold the most albums in history with over 2oo+million. Elvis Presley continued selling albums after his death; he has sold 1billion. So imagine how big Celine's total will be in a 100 years. Colonel Parker never took Elvis out of the United States.

I made a mistake and didn't add Mexico to Madonna's totals. I have an excel file organized by continents and I included the Mexico figures in Latin America. For comparison's purposes, as Celine's totals include two shows in Mexico, we should add Madonna's too.

Good spot!!

Here's a link to the article on The Sun's website.

CELINE DION is the music industry's top earner of the past decade, it was revealed yesterday.

The pop diva - famous for Oscar-winning ballad My Heart Will Go On - raked in a massive £460million in ten years.

Some £320million came from concert ticket sales, including her five-year stint at Caesar's Palace casino in Las Vegas.

The other £140million was from album sales.

US country singer KENNY CHESNEY - once married to Hollywood star RENEE ZELLWEGER - came second, followed by the DAVE MATTHEWS BAND.

THE BEATLES were in fourth place, earning £380million - forty years after their break-up.

U2 were close behind with £370million. The Irish band were the biggest earners of 2009.

Next were country star TOBY KEITH, rocker BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN, the ROLLING STONES, singer-songwriter TIM McGRAW and pop princess BRITNEY SPEARS.

The LA Times survey combined album sales with concert takings.

I love many singers and have seen many live in concert:

Madonna, Mariah, Toni Braxton, Michael Jackson, Kylie Minogue, Mylène Farmer, Whitney Houston, Janet Jackson, Lionel Richie, Diana Ross...

But the only ones who come close to Céline's live concerts are Michael Bublé and Tina Arena.

So all I can say: Céline deserves to 'win' this one!

Congratulations!

Very impressive. Celine deserves every penny. They should also add airline sales and hotel accommodations for traveling to Las Vegas since a majority of us only went there just to see her.

Very, very, very true. It's amazing to think of ALL the people who went to Vegas for Celine.
