Aw she's so generous... And I agree we shouldn't be bashing Madonna just because she gave less.. The fact that she DID donate is the important part...

But anyways, I hope to hear more news regarding an appearance. If she sings what song do you guys thing she will sing? I think maybe The Prayer or My Love..

God Bless Celine for her donation. It's nice that there are such people that can make these donations. Granted, a million is just a drop in the bucket for all the funding that is needed to help. It just goes to show that people should do what they can to donate.

Hmmm I've been searching and haven't found anything about Céline donating money to Haiti. I'm sure she has though, she's not used to brag to the media.

 

But I agree, we should not compare notes on who donates the most. Every amount counts.

I have donated and sure, I could have donated more but we just need people to donate to any help organization out there that we trust will bring help to the people of Haiti. They have some terrible months ahead of them, this is just the beginning.

Yeah I agree we shouldn't bash or critic another divas for not being as generous as Céline, the fact is that she donated, whatever amount, but she donated.

As for Céline, I haven't heard anything either... I'm sure if she would have donated such an amount of money she would have been in the news, Madonna did donate less and she is... Maybe René would want to keep it secret, but I'm sure that news would have made front page someway, by an employee of the Foundation she donated it through, for example. You know, even walls do talk.

I even liked the fact that the always over the top Beyonce toned down and sang from her soul.

As far as I know and up to now Céline has not left once Florida "to work" since last March. Dysney performances were in Florida(along with those Access Hollywood interviews). Michel Jasmin went to Florida to interview her and René...and she did those french and english messages for Haïti telethons from Florida.

 

I personnally think it's a lot(and enough) from a woman who's suppose to be on break to take a well-deserved rest and to commit herself thouroughly in IVF processes.

 

Furthermore, she will be involved unexpectedly in a tribute for MJ next week on the Grammy for our greatest pleasure....

 

I guess the more one gives, the more people expect.....

 

I'm happy and thankfull for all we have and I say let's appreciate what Céline is giving her fans these days...and the world so generously.... still....

Strange that she didn't decide to take part in this being that Haiti is a French-speaking country and all--and, well, Celine is probably the most famous French name thrown out there other than Chanel. I'm sure she just decided to sit back and support the efforts as a private citizen though. We know how generous she is.

It does not surprise me. There was three telethon on the same night. One in French on every Québec french networks here(for which she was invited the first day), one in english on every english Canada networks(for which she was invited no doubt) and one broadcast on every US network (and for the world to watch) all live, all on the same night...plus Céline is on break right now and isn't able to split herself "yet" to attend all those.

 

So imo for her to record french and english messages and donate generously $500,000 dollar seems already a lot(and enough) to me. again especially considering she's on break...

I totally agree with you. Adoption is not something you just do. It is a very big step, not only for the parents, but also for the child. I'm so sick of people writing everywhere on the internet that Celine is selfish and should just adopt. It breaks my heart that people say that, because we all know it is not the truth.
