What if someone said this to you:

Those BRAVE men and women are fighting in Iraq so we can put Chinese ribbon magnets on our cars."

How would you react?

i would think its kind of a rude thing to say... :angry2:

“There’s nothing I love more than the romance of a night in the theater.”

What's to be offended? It's called irony. It's a dig at the people who think those ribbons are financially supporting the troops, yet the money is going to the people in China, who make them.

If you really want to send them support, do it in the form of a check, not a ribbon on your car. Those don't make a difference to the soldiers.

i still think its kinda rude but to each his/her own...

We might kiss when we are alone... When nobody's watching... We might take it home... We might make out... When nobody's there... It's not that we're scared... It's just that it's delicate... We might live like never before... When there's nothing to give... Well how can we ask for more... We might make love in some sacred place... The look on your face is delicate

I can see how that could be taking in a negative way if not fully understood. I agree with LVCeline's interpretation of the public "supporters" really just supporting the makers of the ribbons instead of directly donating the money towards the troops. That's really ironic.

Je t'aime Cèline!

See my husband is in the military, and just came back. the ribbons we get are from a good organization and goes back to the troops in some form or another. I got offended by that comment, being made from another forum and left. Personally i think it's an attack to our military, but I can't see the irony in it. Thank you

I think you've known they have nothing good to say in that forum. so why bother to check what they said? just ignore them.

You're husband has put his life on the line for many people... And it's because of people like him who are a country's protection. You should be proud of your husband for what he's doing.

My sister has a yellow ribbon on her car that says "Pray For Our Troops," and I see nothing offensive. ^_^

Many people at the "other" forum know not of what they say.

I give my gratitude to your husband for what he's doing for us. And just stay strong. :flowers: :bye1:
