My Pre-screening Tape

Hello everyone. I'm new to this site and this forum immediately grabbed my attention. Singing and music in general are my life so I've finally mailed in all my college applications at the beginning of the month. I want to major in Vocal Performance so I applied to Juilliard, Oberlin, Curtis Institute, New England Conservatory, Peabody Institute, Manhattan School of Music and Boston University.

 

To meet the application details and requirements, I had to mail a "Pre-screening" CD along with my supplemental materials. This helps the voice department get an idea of what one's voice is all about. From there they select you for a live audition at the college and then final results are in April. I can't wait. I already got a few auditions at Peabody, Manhattan and Oberlin. I haven't heard from the rest (hopefully I will).

 

Regardless, here are two YouTube videos of myself singing two of the four main songs in my repertoire for the CD. One is called Zueignung by Richard Strauss and the second is O del mio dolce ardor by Christoph Willibald Gluck.

 

I hope you enjoy them as much I enjoyed singing them.
