eszcd30 Posted November 29, 2009 at 11:47 PM Posted November 29, 2009 at 11:47 PM Yay!! It's skating season!! What makes me smile the most about it is that during skating season lots of pros skate to whatever the heck they feel like skating to, that includes a myriad of Celine routines! Now tons of skaters have skated to Celine, but NO ONE skates the way Caryn Kadavy skates to her! Caryn LOVES Celine, or least she seems to skate to her quite a bit. When she skates, it's like she embodies everything that is Celine. She's graceful, beautiful, classy, fun, and a definite showstopper. She's the skater that other professionals will stop and watch because she's so graceful. She was on the '88 Olympic team and while she's not SUPER known by the general public, she's still amazing. In today's youth of skating where it's all about how high, how many jumps, all this overly glitzy stuff, Caryn inevitably comes and skates to something beautiful (like Celine) and proves it's not always how high you can jump but how beautiful you can be in between your jumps. Plus I love that she seems to love Celine. So without further adieu, I present exhibit A, Caryn skating to Oh Holy Night by Celine. Now IF you watch this, please bear in mind that she was coming off a knee injury and while she does make small mistakes, she's still just as graceful skating as Celine is singing. Celine and skating... it's a tough combo to beat! Anyone else agree?? PS second only to Caryn and Celine is Kristi Yamaguchi skating to "Have You Ever Been In Love" Quote http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/7210/celinedion1small.jpg

eszcd30 Posted December 3, 2009 at 05:39 PM Author Posted December 3, 2009 at 05:39 PM Wow, that was incredible. About 30 seconds in i started to get major chills, from her skating and the music. So very BEAUTIFUL! Isn't she AMAZING?! She is so CELINE, just in ice form... She also skated to Seduces Me, It's All Coming Back to Me now, and I think another one but I'm drawing a blank. She's just so graceful and when you add Celine's music, it's like the melding of two perfections. Quote http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/7210/celinedion1small.jpg

It's All Coming Back To Me Now She reminds me of Celine with all the hugs and kisses after the performance and blowing kisses and winks lol Classy and graceful. I've seen another skater skating to MHWGO. Quote Please support the forum by ordering through our Amazon.com referral link below. Click here to go to the Amazon homepage.

I Love You Posted December 5, 2009 at 06:32 AM Posted December 5, 2009 at 06:32 AM Just got back from Stars on Ice, it was fantastic, the Canadian Tenors Sang The Prayer. I was so excited I was the only one cheering. :xmas_biggrin: :xmas_biggrin:   Quote
Claudette Posted December 5, 2009 at 09:12 AM Posted December 5, 2009 at 09:12 AM (edited) O my word, the ''It's All Coming Back To Me Now'' number was brilliant... She does remind me of Celine... I cried when they took the ice... LOL I'm such a geek. Wow, she really is what you described. It's All Coming Back To Me Now She reminds me of Celine with all the hugs and kisses after the performance and blowing kisses and winks lol Classy and graceful. IACBTMN is a more well-known routine of hers, she's skated it many times over the years and it's tends to be a fav among Caryn fans. Sort of like Swan Lake and Oksana Baiul, but on a less-known scale. Caryn also skated to Seduces Me and I'm still on the hunt for that one, and should I EVER find it, I'll post it. *sigh* isn't she great?? And of course she gets a HUGE bonus for liking Celine. I FOUND IT!! I FOUND IT!! I FOUND IT!!!! Oh man, okay so up until now my favorite routine was Oh Holy Night,... ummm not any more.... This one is AMAZING!! Minus the '90s hairdo... disregard that, it was the '90s after all... YAY!!! Quote http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/7210/celinedion1small.jpg
eszcd30 Posted December 5, 2009 at 10:11 PM Author Posted December 5, 2009 at 10:11 PM So.... I just found out she's gonna be one of the coaches at a skating camp this August!! Now if I were younger and didn't think I'd be such a dork showing up, I would totally do it! Too bad it'd be like in the movies where there's 500 little kids who are pretty darn good surrounding one grown-up who's mediocre, therein making the grown-up (me) look like a huge DORK!!! They say all levels and all ages but somehow I'm sure I'd be the oldest one there.... And since I have a huge thing against looking like a moron.... I LOVE IT! I wish I were as good as Caryn but then again if I were, my life would be very different right now... It's not as hard as people expect, it's even better if you have a good center of gravity. Quote http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/7210/celinedion1small.jpg
RLAAMJR. Posted December 7, 2009 at 04:30 AM Posted December 7, 2009 at 04:30 AM well, the place where the ice skating rink is is on another island and it's kinda expensive for me to travel to get there and i also work on a different island so i actually can't get there unless i resign and go there and look for a job there so that on my rest days , i could ice skate. (we might see Celine!!!) In amateur competition which in skating is the Olympics, the world's, Nationals, etc, classical or instrumental is required. They are not allowed to skate to music with words, why precisely the rule is now words, that I'm not sure, but it's always been that competition skating is done to classical or instrumentals. In professional shows and some professional competitions they can use music with words. I totally can't wait for the Olympics too!!
