Derek F. Posted November 23, 2009 at 07:06 AM Posted November 23, 2009 at 07:06 AM From the 1990's to 2002, Celine was at the top of music, selling over 150 million albums worldwide at that point, becoming the best selling female artist of all time, had sold-out tours, many #1's, was the biggest artist on Adult Contempory radio, and for movie songs, but everything seemed to change in 2002. Did you notice when? Tommy Mottola, CEO of Sony Music, left the company that year, and around the same time so did alot of others at Sony. Was that a factor? That year, Sony released a brilliant choice for Celine's A New Day Has Come album, the first single, A New Day Has Come, and another great choice I'm Alive, for the second single.Do you believe things really took a turn with the release of the next singles from the album? Why did Sony/Celines team not release more radio friendly songs from the album, like I Surrender or The Greatest Reward? Both amazing ballads, especially I Surrender (which has now become a non-single classic!) With so much promotion for Celine's prior albums, including A New Day Has Come, which debuted at #1 in over 17 countries, including America, Why has there been such little promotion done in support of Celine's last few release's since then? Why was there not more fan and public consideration given by Columbia/Sony Music when releasing singles from Celines newest studio album Taking Chances? Taking Chances was a awesome choice, and did well, for the first single, but Alone for the second? Celine's cover of the song is amazing, but there were much better choices as we know for singles like Surprise, Surprise or Fade Away. Why does Celine believe, as she stated to Billboard in 2007, that maybe her team and fans are tired of her long, high, amazing notes? That is what most of her fans wait for or love! Why would Celine do more Vegas shows when she comes back from her current vacation? A New Day... was amazing and was the most successful show ever in Las Vegas for decades, but why wouldn't Celine act and play the role of Maria Callas as Celine has stated she has dreamed of doing? I hope for Celine to be blessed by God with another child, and with continued happiness for her and her family. I hope Celine's vacation gets better, after the recent heartbreaking event Celine went through. We all want the best for Celine. Vegas would be good again if Celine still can accomplish other career dreams while she's there. When Celine comes back to show business again what can we do to help Celine's team and Celine's career course Celine has been on to show Celine we miss her big notes, and also that we want to see her reach new career heights?

Javito Posted November 23, 2009 at 11:07 AM Posted November 23, 2009 at 11:07 AM Pffffiuuuu!! I believe what you say Derek. I do believe that something wrong happened in 2002, between the I'm Alive single and then GTSW selected as the next single (). I don't know if it was because of Mottola left Sony, or whoever at the company who believed in her and that supported her music, but A New Day Has Come was doing SO well worldwide, great sales and critics, and then it all suddenly changed Maybe Sony didn't agree with Céline's adventure at Las Vegas and they give their back to her since then. Well, who knows? I only know that all you say is true, things were different before 2003 in Sony with her albums and promotion. That's clear as water. As I know that ANDHC album could have had many more singles released and they let it die without pity (to release One Heart... which wasn't more than ANDHC part. II with a new recorded song) Why does Celine believe, as she stated to Billboard in 2007, that maybe her team and fans are tired of her long, high, amazing notes? That is what most of her fans wait for or love! Uh, did she ever say that?? Well I don't agree with you then! Long, high notes are NOT what every fan waits and loves from her. We love them, of course, but some of us do enjoy her soft and calm songs too! And she's GREAT singing them 1 "Hush, now... I see a light in the sky"
