I just came back from the store and decided to go in another direktion, I hope that's okay with you. A hand towel felt so small and silly, so I went for a 90x150 cm bath towel that can be used in hot summer days by their "little garden pool" ( ) . I chose a grey one that will look great with white text. There were blue ones as well, but since we don't know his favorite colour... Well, I thought of my own nephews in RCs age and what they would think was "cool".

 

It was a bit more than I was going to spend, about $40, so if any of you would like to pitch in financially that would be nice but I do not expect it of any of you (PM me for my paypal address, I'll send any extra $$ to CF2)

Hmmm, ran into trouble... The program won't let me type "René-Charles" with this font, so would you prefer "Rene-Charles" or "RC"?

I'd go for Rene-Charles, 'RC' is too short in my opinion

Yeah it's short and it looks a bit odd when you work on the embroidery pattern, but since that's what he's called.. I don't know... I'll wait til tomorrow and see if anyone else has commented

Hi Frida, like I said before happy to help financially. PM on the way to you. I can go another $10 too. Can't have the little fella being left out. I agree with Rene-Charles too. Do you think you would be comfortable hand stitching the accent over the e yourself? Should be simple enough I would think. But my sewing expertise begins and ends with buttons, so what would I know!

 

Love the colour of the towel personally, very classy and the kind of colour I would choose, but maybe a kid would want a more primary colour?

2) The embroidery thread is super super thin, to embroider with that by hand would look really bad (and to use another/thicker embroidery thread will look odd too since it won't have the same shine/look to it..). I've tried to find a similar font that will allow the accent to be included, but no luck there

3) I could exchange the towel for another colour if you guys would prefer that, I just didn't dare to choose a colourful one in case he doesn't like it... There was a dark blue and a ligher one, a mid-green, a khaki-brown-ish, dark purple, black, white, but I didn't really I didn't really like any of them, none are "kid friendly shades"

Frida, what are you talking about? That quilt is wonderful, you did a great job. Although I couldn't take part in this project, I'm very happy with the result.

The card is very nice too, you guys should be very proud. I'm sure Céline will love this gift.

I thought of a navy towel + a really strong orange text combo last night. Should go with that? I'll be able to go and exchange it in 5 hours or so, I hope some have responded by then

John: Yes, I got the grey/neutral one since I didn't know what you all would prefer. But it can easily be exchanged, that's no problem. The only issue is all the other shops in the mall
