"Taking Chances" - Worst Album according to "Gigwise"

The webpage "Gigwise" choosed the 50 worst albums for the 2000s. On position 36 you can find Celine TC-album.

 

Here's Gigwise explanation:

 

"Celine Dion: 'Taking Chances' (2007) – You have to wonder how bad an album is when the collector's edition comes with its own perfume. This was the incentive Celine Dion gave her fans with the release of 'Taking Chances' in 2007. And while her loyal followers lapped it up – and presumably sprayed it on – those with a more astute taste in music were left to wonder just what had happened to Canada's most famous female singer. Still ousold many artists in 2007 so not bad in my opinion lol! Did you notice how they diddnt mention anything about the album, all they did was bash celine, there was no expanation to y it was so bad! People always pick on celine, an ya know what the best thing is celine doesn't even care lol she knows how succesfull she is lol she knows how well the cd did too.

I think, also that some critics think that musicians/artists/bands should only do the same thing they've always done, so when they switch gears and expand their talents, the critics lambast them. Of course, then you have the critics who complain because a musician/artist/band's songs all sound the same. So basically the old addage applies, "You can't please all the people all the time." I think as long as the musician/artist/band is pleased with the album then they shouldn't listen to the critics. Just my two cents' worth.

Taking Chances might not be one of Celine Dion's better albums, but to classify it as one of the worst albums, it got me thinking how will they classify the albums of Smiley Virus, Black Eyed Peas, Lil Wayne etc...

 

fact is, Celine's worst album might be some of today's artist's best album.

By the way, i believe that a perfume with an album is useless and really bad idea! So i agree with him that him that wasnt the best thing to do! I also agree that her worst studio album maybe its One Heart! But still good if you think some rubish from other artists that become number one hits!
