British rock icon Bonnie Tyler has announced she plans to return to music.

 

The singer has recorded a new version of her 1983 number one hit 'Total Eclipse of the Heart' along with Only Men Aloud, winners of BBC show Last Choir Standing.

 

Speaking about the new version, Tyler said:

 

"I'm delighted with this version of Total Eclipse and it is wonderful to be working with such a great choir as Only Men Aloud. I am so happy that the legendary Jim Steinman, who wrote this beautiful song, has told me how much he adores this recording of it."

 

Bonnie Tyler is one of a few British recording artists who has had a number one in the United States. Other singers include Leona Lewis with 'Bleeding Love', Petula Clark with 1965's 'Downtown' and Sheena Easton's 'Morning Train'.

 

'Total Eclipse of the Heart' will be released as single and will also feature on Only Men Aloud's next album due to be released on October 12.
