Jim Bob, 44, and Michelle Duggar, 42, who are already parents to 18 children – with one grandchild on the way – have announced that they are expecting their 19th baby this spring!

“We are so thrilled,” says Michelle, 42. “We just couldn’t believe it is happening.”

Her husband agrees: “This never gets old,” he tells PEOPLE. “We are so grateful for each child. We are looking forward to our first grand baby and our 19th child.”

The Duggar’s oldest son Joshua, 21 and his wife Anna, 21, are expecting their first baby, a daughter named Mackynzie Renée, next month: “I think it is going to be awesome, it is going to be great,” says Josh. “We have been looking forward to the arrival of my little girl and to now get to celebrate for my parents, it’s a wonderful thing.”

Mom Michelle is excited as well: “I love all of this, it is so fun,” she says. “Anna and I will have babies five months apart. My mother and my sister were pregnant at the same time and it was really wonderful. The kids were really close and still are. I have a nephew who grew up with me, we’re just three months apart.”

Though Michelle is no stranger to the symptoms, she tells PEOPLE that this pregnancy came as a shock.

“I was wanting pickles and the older girls were saying, ‘Mom, you only crave these at the very beginning of being pregnant. You kept it from us before, now tell us. Are you?’” Michelle says. “And I kept telling them I wasn’t. I just wanted some pickles.”

Finally, when her diet wasn’t working as it should have been, she started wondering: "I was in Weight Watchers with Jim Bob and I wasn't losing any weight," she says. "I couldn't figure it out. I was doing what I should. And the baby, who was nursing, was fussy. I kept thinking, 'This isn't right. She isn't teething, she doesn't have an ear infection. I'm not cheating on my diet, I should be losing weight.' Then, I put two and two together and wondered if I could possibly be pregnant."

Michelle, who is now in her 12th week of pregnancy says she’s been experiencing some morning sickness: “I’m feeling nauseous right now and I’m tired. I am happy for the feelings for morning sickness and I’m happy for every day I get to play with my kids. We don’t know what tomorrow holds and so I try to enjoy every moment.”

The Duggars, who live debt free in a home they built for themselves, have been married for 25 years and one month. They couple recently renewed their wedding vows saying that the ceremony was a great way for their kids to understand the commitment of marriage.

Their lives are documents on their TLC show, 18 Kids And Counting, airing Tuesday nights.

Really? Come on. This really shocked me, how many kids do they need? I can't believe she is having another baby! :o

they've got nothing else better to do :giggle:

:jawdrop: As long as they can take care of each and every one of their children without sacrificing their welfare, it's all good.

She has so many risks to consider with her age, she's 42. I know they don't believe in birth control and they say kids are a gift from god and they said they won't stop having children till god decides they don't need anymore children.

erm céline is pregnant too and she's 41 :whistling: :hmm:

that high age thing is kinda a crappy argument, cos if it really would be dangerous, woman would stop being fertile after they turn 40! Also Céline's mom was 41 when she had céline and céline is in perfect health :P

But Michelle is not using a frozen embryo from when she was 33 and had way less genetic and birth defect possibilties. She is 42 and having another baby eight months after she had the last baby. Her body is probably very run down and stressed from eighteen previous pregnancies. Celine has had one pregnancy and she is in good shape body wise, Michelle you can't say the same about.

I think she doesn't understand the fact that you can have enough children. They also don't believe in birth control, not that it would suprise anyone. She is going damaging her healthy by having so many children. A woman's body isn't meant to carry so many pregnancies, epsecially so close together. She doesn't believe there is such a thing as to many children. She said on The Today Show.

Ann Curry asked new mommy Michelle, "How many children is too many?"

Michelle's reply: “Saying there’s too many children would be like saying there’s too many flowers. You just can’t have too many. I think they’re precious and just a wonderful gift.”

To me, the shame is that this womans older children are pretty much raising her younger children and they live debt free because TLC pays them to have kids [my personal feeling]

I think it's so silly.

Oh I know, I watch the show because I can't believe some of the things they believe, like no dancing. They have a family rule against dancing, or movement of any kind that could be dancing, they have a cousin Amy who is on the show sometimes and Amy is TOTALLY different than the Duggars, she's not really religious based like they are, she's wild, loud and out going. They basically politely made it a point that they tolerate Amy but don't like the way she is. But anyway back to my point, rarely do I see Michelle holding the youngest baby Jorydn unless she's nursing her. One of the other kids always has her or she's in a carseat, stroller or something. The older kids have to help the little ones do everything, and they always have to have a "buddy" because there are to many kids for the parents to keep track of so they make the older ones watch them when they go out.

I think they do this show and to a degree keep having children because TLC pays them big bucks and the only source of income(other than the show) is a used carlot Jim Bob runs and some property they rent out. So you know there is no way they could support a family of what will be twenty on that small income, they couldn't do it without the show. So what I want to know is how they are going to support their kids when this show is over?

She'll sell em to the highest bidder, haha.

Okay, I'm mean, :P

But yes, I agree. Radical religion, I thinks. God loves me because I am a good person, that has always been my belief. Of course it's deeper than that, but jeez. I wish more people would open their eyes, instead of being all "they are a real loving family"

I wonder how many of their kids are gay. lol! That may sound dumb, but 1 in 10, and I am a gay child from a mormon family of 3 kids. I bet one of em is. And I bet the parents wont be so sweet and loving of they ever find out. Just sayin!

I agree, they even force their kids to "court" and they aren't allowed to date, they have to have a chaperone if they do allow them on a date and it has to be one of the older kids with them and another sibling has to go along with the chaperone. They aren't allowed to hold hands, or kiss. They have to even ask permission to hold hands and when the oldest proposed to his wife he didn't even kiss her. He side hugged her and she looked absolutely embarassed that he even asked her to marry him.

Okay this is going to sound stupid but...how the hell do they all get some place? Do they have to have like four or five separate cars and have the parents and the oldest drive? It's little things like that I can't even imagine, having 18 kids and one on the way. What happens when they go out to dinner? It's gotta a few hundred dollars. And grocery store shopping, my mom and I go every two weeks and between the two of us, it's like $100 - so it's gotta be $1000 or around there every two weeks...how the hell do they have that much money to support 18 kids?!

TLC pays them the big bucks, I'm sure. Maybe every new kid, they get a bonus? lol IDK. But it must suck for the kids, growing up in the 50's when it's the year 2009. I would have said Sianara a while ago.

They don't eat out, I think I've saw them eat out at a restaurant once or twice maybe? and when they travel on a long trip they take this big bus that used to belong to a basketball team or hockey team I can't remember which. Oh and they spend atleast two thousand a grocery trip I believe, they've shown them shop on the show, they have to take a trailer just to fit all the groceries and they have a shopping cart for each kid that is big enough to push a cart, they all have to help with carts because they have so much stuff and so many carts.

As for small driving trips like somewhere local, they take usually two cars and the older girls drive. They have a van and SUV and since they own a car lot can get basically any size car they need. You have to remember TLC Is paying them major bucks for this show so they can afford their big grocery bills, travel expenses if they aren't paid for by TLC, they buy second hand everything, they make their own laundry detergent, they perm their own hair, they don't watch tv so they dont have to pay for cable, they dom't play sports, or any other activities because they said they have to many kids. , and the places they take trips to usually will offer the trip to them for free just like they did on Jon and Kate Plus 8. You just gotta remember TLC is paying them a ton of cash so I'm sure they have plenty of money to support their eight kids and counting.

oh and quick note they make more income from the book they have, and they do speaking engagements, so that brings in a bit of extra money as well.
