Belle Céline Posted August 13, 2009 at 07:13 PM Posted August 13, 2009 at 07:13 PM Christina Cataldo performing the music of Celine Dion, a revue of work from Sam Carner and Derek Gregor, and a promotion party for the upcoming recording of Paul Scott Goodman's Rooms are all part of the special programming scheduled to run alongside the productions of the New York Music Theater Festival (NYMF). Throughout the Festival, three rounds of NYMF's Next Broadway Sensation (September 13, September 20, and October 4) will be seen at New World Stages. During Sensation, singers compete to win the chance to perform in their own solo concert. Celebrity commentators offer their opinions of the performers while the audience casts the votes that decide each singer's fate. In addition to Sensation, the special programming of NYMF will include In Therapy With Celine (October 13). With book by Evan Storey and featuring the music of Celine Dion performed by Cataldo, "Therapy" explores the singer's psyche through her music. Sing, But Don't Tell: An Evening of Carner and Gregor (October 18) will be an evening of music from the writers of the musical Unlock'd. NYMF will also host ROOMS A Rock Romance Album Promo (October 14), where Goodman's songs from the show will be performed live and tracks from the forthcoming recording will be previewed. Rounding out the special programming at NYMF will be the Festival's Sixth Anniversary Season Opening Night Celebration (September 28) and the closing night event held on October 18.
