Stardust Posted August 5, 2009 at 09:08 PM Posted August 5, 2009 at 09:08 PM Access Hollywood - August 4, 2009 8:27 PM PDT LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- After much speculation, Paula Abdul will not be returning to "American Idol" next season. The "Idol" judge hit her Twitter page on Tuesday night to break the news. VIEW THE PHOTOS: The Verdict Is In! Judges Of Reality Television "With sadness in my heart, I've decided not to return to #Idol," she posted on her Twitter page. "I'll miss nurturing all the new talent, but most of all being a part of a show that I helped from day1become an international phenomenon." Following the announcement, FOX issued a statement of their own to Access Hollywood confirming Paula would not be in her judge's chair next season for the first time since the show began in 2002. "Paula Abdul has been an important part of the 'American Idol' family over the last eight seasons and we are saddened that she has decided not to return to the show. While Paula will not be continuing with us, she's a tremendous talent and we wish her the best," the statement from FOX said. During her "Idol" negotiations, Paula posted several messages on her Twitter page making it clear that her return was still up in the air. "Your support & encouragement means so much to me. I hope you understand I can only return to #Idol if the deal is fair," she posted last week. On Tuesday, after announcing she would not return for the show's upcoming ninth season, Paula once again offered her heartfelt thanks to her fans for their support. "What I want to say most, is how much I appreciate the undying support and enormous love that you have showered upon me... It truly has been breathtaking, especially over the past month," she wrote. "I do without any doubt have the BEST fans in the entire world and I love you all." Paula's negotiations with "Idol" producers reportedly came down to money. According to a previous report by Radar Online, the veteran reality judge was asking for $20 million to return to the show - "Idol" was reportedly willing to offer half of that amount. The news of her departure comes just weeks after host Ryan Seacrest inked a new contract worth $45 million over three years, making him the highest paid host on reality TV. Meanwhile, last week it was confirmed that the newest member to the "Idol" judging panel, Kara DioGuardi, would be returning to the show when Season Nine bows in January. http://omg.yahoo.com/news/paula-abdul-leav...n-idol/26014?nc Quote http://img187.imageshack.us/img187/7105/mybannerglitter7cb00b87.gif
CSCfan Posted August 5, 2009 at 09:21 PM Posted August 5, 2009 at 09:21 PM Wow.....$20 mil for just 1 year/season? Talk about demanding. Quote »»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»» MATHIAS ««««««««««««««««««««««««««««««««https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NzPrxI0AIDY
Lymon Posted August 5, 2009 at 09:35 PM Posted August 5, 2009 at 09:35 PM I think Ryan's deal is even more ludicrous than Paula's. What the heck is Ryan doing other than introducing people and talking to contestants? At least with Paula she has to give her opinion on things and sometimes choreograph. Either way, I shall miss her drunken antics. Quote http://i51.tinypic.com/2uf4r5f.png
Stardust Posted August 5, 2009 at 10:10 PM Author Posted August 5, 2009 at 10:10 PM im happy with her decision! bacause AI so dead long time already!!!! i hope Paula will have enough time now to finish her album finally!!!! Quote http://img187.imageshack.us/img187/7105/mybannerglitter7cb00b87.gif
Acacia Posted August 5, 2009 at 10:26 PM Posted August 5, 2009 at 10:26 PM I'm sad about it. I'm not a fan of hers, and definitely would pick Kara over her, but I'll miss the Paula/Simon fighting. Oh well, we've still got Ryan and Simon taking hits at each other and I'm sure the show will run smoother now that it's back to three judges. Jacqui Posted August 5, 2009 at 11:39 PM Posted August 5, 2009 at 11:39 PM I used to love Paula...then I hated her...now I'm neutral. But I think it sucks that she's leaving! She helped make that show what it is, it'll never be as good without her. Kara is annoying, Simon is mean, and Randy is...not so easy to understand. It's a shame if it's about money. On one hand she should probably be paid more, since Ryan and Simon get paid so much, but then again there are probably more important things to consider...like whether she enjoys the job, and what she's gonna do now... Koolan Posted August 6, 2009 at 01:32 AM Posted August 6, 2009 at 01:32 AM Don't need her anymore since Kara can fill in her shoes. Quote Please support the forum by ordering through our Amazon.com referral link below. Click here to go to the Amazon homepage.

alvaap24 Posted August 6, 2009 at 03:51 PM Posted August 6, 2009 at 03:51 PM Well I don't know I feel that the show won't be the same, Paula was funny sometimes haha and as much as I like Kara is not the same, they are very different, but who knows.. I'm still not convinced that she won't return, until we see the first show Quote http://static.rp-online.de/layout/fotos/Celine_Dion_Vegas_NVJJ1244d8062640354.jpgThere ain't a dreamThat don't have the chance to come true nowIt just takes a little faith..

angelil78 Posted August 6, 2009 at 05:13 PM Posted August 6, 2009 at 05:13 PM I think Paula should have left the show a LONG time ago. Don´t have anything agains her though but she is a bit nuts and sometimes doesn´t make sence at all! But I also think that American Idol doesn´t have many seasons left. Quote
Edwin Posted August 6, 2009 at 05:50 PM Posted August 6, 2009 at 05:50 PM Rumor is that she may be going to "So You Think You Can Dance" I'm sure SYTYCD can't even pay her close to what she was asking for AI! Quote

"I'm Just Here For The Music" is just great. I remember listening to her music in the late 80s, and I got her cassette when I was in high school. My classmates made fun of me because her two first singles really flopped and some were like, Paula Abdul, who is she?? A year later they were eating their words. Quote
LuisMa Posted August 8, 2009 at 09:46 AM Posted August 8, 2009 at 09:46 AM It has been announced that Katy Perry and Victoria Beckham have agreed to appear on the show as guest judges. I think they should hire Gioia Bruno, she's fun, fresh, nice, beautiful, almost the same age as Paula, and had a bunch of top 10 hits as well, including one number one. Quote
drownedre-invention Posted August 8, 2009 at 05:18 PM Posted August 8, 2009 at 05:18 PM I like Victoria Beckham, if you actually watch her dance, and listen to her sing live, she's not all that bad.Katy Perry however... ew... Quote
Stardust Posted August 9, 2009 at 07:54 AM Author Posted August 9, 2009 at 07:54 AM how excatly Victoria Beckham can judge somebody? she was worst in girl band without any voice, ny god, at least Paula was the real performer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AI is a joke!!!!! Quote http://img187.imageshack.us/img187/7105/mybannerglitter7cb00b87.gif
LuisMa Posted August 9, 2009 at 07:58 AM Posted August 9, 2009 at 07:58 AM There is an interview with the Beckhams with Ali G. and he is asking them about their son Brooklyn, and he says "When he grows up, would you like him to be a soccer player like his daddy or a singer like Mariah Carey?" Quote
LuisMa Posted August 9, 2009 at 08:33 AM Posted August 9, 2009 at 08:33 AM From Yahoo!.com: Meanwhile, rumored permanent replacements for Paula included another dancer-turned-semi-singer, Jennifer Lopez (J.Lo dismissed such rumors), and British pop/TV star Cheryl Cole, herself a reality veteran (she's a member of the Popstars U.K. group Girls Aloud and a judge on Simon Cowell's X Factor). I love me some Cheryl, but I don't know how well she'd be received in a land where she's practically unknown. Quote
Edwin Posted August 9, 2009 at 09:59 AM Posted August 9, 2009 at 09:59 AM Are you sure it's Cheryl Cole you want, and not Cherry Coke? They should just see how Simon, Randy and Kara do without adding anyone else. Quote
LuisMa Posted August 9, 2009 at 10:02 AM Posted August 9, 2009 at 10:02 AM No, I want Cherry Coke. But damn Cheryl is gorgeous and an excellent judge. She kept me glued to the tube last year throughtout the whole X-Factor. And she and Alexandra won. Quote
disadiva Posted August 9, 2009 at 10:35 AM Posted August 9, 2009 at 10:35 AM I will miss Paula she was amazing and so funny, i don´t want Kara cause she thinks she´s like Celine and when she was working with her on Surprise, Surprise...something bothered me with her attidude to Celine (Do it better kinda thing) But she´s prob okey i think. I want "DAVID FOSTER" To be the third judge he knowes MUSIC AND TALENT when he hears them,He has worked with every DIVA ON THIS PLANET from BARBRA-CELINE-WHITHEY-MARIAH-BEYONCÉ-CHRISTINA-And You just name itwhom he hasn´t Produced jet because he has worked with them all with amazing result.I Wan´t DAVID..If he would join the AI for Third Judge the show would be incredible and Randy would have something similarity to his own production skills. :w00t: But you´ll never know.
