Celine Dion artistic Creativity

Since year 2000, I've been a looking to see the Artist Celine really is... Now when She goes into the studio, she just spend a few hours recording exactly the way producers say, but they do not let her try something new...

But I know her talent is still inside.... When I hear the sound checks of the Tour and Vegas I have no doubt She will be on top again if she could fly and do everything she wants to in the cretive process of a musician....

Well, I think for her French career that's always been the "artistic" Celine. It's close collaborations with one producer or a few, and she's singing about things that relate to her. She sings more for the words and the music than for those almighty high notes. With the English career, it has always been about following trends(many times a few years too late) and hitting a lot of notes. There is a lot of producers(making things messy), Celine just picks her favorite songs from ones sent in, goes in, does what the producers tell her to, and leaves.

 

I don't expect Celine to start writing/producing all of her own material, but she should start doing close collaborations with her English career as well. Have 3 writers/producers for the album, go into writing sessions with them and just throw around ideas. Don't necessarily write, just shoot the breeze and throw around ideas, get involved in the process. And being an Executive Producer of her albums would help, too. Also releasing and promoting singles other than ballads.

I absolutely agree... And I want her to invest time enough in recordings , a song shoul not be recorded in 2 hours, I want her to spend days trying to be creative and find a new , different, creative sound for each song...

She Frequently Mentions In Various Books And Interviews that she does have melodies for songs in her head and ideas but she just nevr writes them down. She Did Co-Write "don't save it all" And It Has Become One Of My Personaly Favourites of Her's and didn't she also come up with a link for a verse or something on ce n'etait qu'un reve and that was a huge hit too. So Personally I Think Celine Should Be Given A Chance to write or co-write some material for future albums. I Think They'd Be Amazing

I don't totally agree with this... yes it's true that she mostly does do what producers tell her to do, but she also frequently says; let's try... this or that or can you lower or higher the key... I just don't think Céline is a person who wants to be credited for every little thing/ remark she does/ make...

I think she should do what Cher did back in 1999 or around that time; she went to some sort of writers camp and wrote songs... the album Not Com.mercial is just amazing!

I totally agree with the fact that Celine's french career has always been her most artistic output. Just by listening to any of her french albums from the 90s and 2000s you can hear a drastic 'artistic' difference when compared to any of her english releases. However I do think that the A New Day... show was a very artistic venture for her english career. Moving to vegas and doing a show in one room isn't exactly following the trends and her collabaration with Dragone created some beautiful moments on that stage. Now if only she could form that sort of a collabaration with someone in the studio...

I agree with some of you, Celine has to be more creative, more artistic with English career.With French songs, she is a pure artist. Her songs on english are not quality as french songs,and she knows that, every time when she needs to choose songs for a concerts, she usulaly chooses songs of other artists.I still don't understand , why then she can't record something quality?, and why she has to sing , again and again the same melodramatic, kitsch power ballads like" My Heart Will Go On", "The Power Of Love", "To Love You More"......?You know, the songs with the same meanings :

  Nobody can takes our love from us
  I will love you til the end of time ....
  

Somebody will probably say, she has defferent songs like "Rain tax" but! the music is interesting, stupid lyrics, or "This Time" interesting lyrics, but music is to much predicted. Another problem is with her music videos . Only good video is for "Tout L'or des hommes". Her English videos looks the same, boring and very kitsch. Celine isn't just a singer , she is a dancer to.Her problem is that she has to promote more her dancing skills. On every concert tour she's dancing. She was exelent in"Stayin Alive/You Should Be dancing" disco coreography, very difficult. In Vegas she is a laeder of the dancers, Celine own the stage, not like Britney Spears, who is not a dancer, she is fake, she even hardly walking on a stage, not to mention Whitney Houston, whoes fans likes to tells untruths about Celine, that she is static and boring, and that whitney is a dancer :sofunny:On what concert Whitney was dancing, Or her fans only thought for video "i'm Your baby tonight", but music videos are shooting part by part. Better example is Mariah Carey, she is static on a stage,not eloquent , so she has to shows her underpants and wonderbra to be interesting for the audience. Celine is strong, force, and very convincing on her concerts. I find something ,video for "River Deep Mountain High" from London Taking Chances concert Celine dancing so brave and powerfull on a platform in a high heels, and singing live.Can Madonna do that?

Celine privatized to much her career with her family.She irritating people and public with that.She has to stop doing this.

I wish she'd stick to one producer, for one coherent album. Like JJG for french, she should do a whole album produced by Kanye West. He raps but he really can't sing, they could collaborate and she would become his voice.

Not only that but the fact that she feels INFINITELY more at ease singing in her native language than she ever will in English.
