amelie Posted June 14, 2009 at 07:29 AM Posted June 14, 2009 at 07:29 AM I wanna share this story with you guys, if thats ok!Its a story only my work mates at the time and my family know about... In the late 90's I worked as a tech support agent for an american internet service provider , when I was living back home in Ireland....We worked 12hr shifts and took incoming calls from canadian and american customers only, regarding internet and email issues. After 1 year, one night I was on night shift just before xmas 99, and I got a phone call from a french canadian lady which wasn't unusual, but this lady's address/phone number and billing details were all private on the system, which was strange and her name was Mona Dion ( maybe mona was backward for anomymous, I dunno... lol ?!? ) She spoke exactly like Celine in english obviously ( bare in mind I spoke to alot of french canadian lady's but the voice was like.... I was so sure the hairs on my arms stood on end when she spoke! ).... Anyways I fixed the issue she had, and then I thought sod it, I'll just say you sound like Celine Dion ( a bit crazy and random yeah but... ) she was quiet chatty and nice but was obviously a beginner regarding the internet....But she laughed and said maybe I am Celine but maybe I'm not, then randomly sang a few lines of the first song Celine's mum wrote for her, ( I froze at this stage as her voice was so good, but was a tad delayed and muffled due to the distance at the same time ) and she asked did I know that song, I said yes, and she laughed and said awwww.She then asked my name and where I was and said thank you for helping her out and that I'm sure I would met Celine some day, and said stay well, bye bye.... ( and I was speechless, an called my work collegues over, and I have never forgotten that night!! ) And till this day I'm convinced it was Celine, but who knows for sure... But I do hope Celine or Rene would join twitter Darren. omg what a story! Quote
celinefan5 Posted June 14, 2009 at 03:12 PM Posted June 14, 2009 at 03:12 PM Wow Darren, that's really cool....You would have to ask her for sure if it was her on the other end of the line! Did the call get recorded? Thanks for sharing! Quote

And she did live in Florida at that time, so the American internet service provider made sense. Perhaps, she was spending her Christmas eve figuring out ways to send out last-minute e-Christmas cards! LOL Edited June 14, 2009 at 03:30 PM by Love, Quote

Celinesongs Posted June 17, 2009 at 09:22 PM Posted June 17, 2009 at 09:22 PM I don't get the big deal with twitter, my best friend is so obessed she got internet on her phone just so she could check the twilight fanatics for updates and pictures of the actors and stuff. personally I think twilight is over rated, its not that great.... IDK if I get bored one day I may make a twitter and add just that page. You can't really say anything about people being obsessed with twilight, because we are just as obsessed with Celine Quote "...I offer what you cannot buy, devoted love, until we die" ~Je t'aime, Céline! http://www.celinerific.com/Gallery/CelineRene/CelineRene26.jpg

BLM Posted June 28, 2009 at 10:14 PM Posted June 28, 2009 at 10:14 PM Just found this information on Twitter also noticed an account for celinedionforum too: Verified Account betaWhat is a verified account? To prevent identity confusion, Twitter is experimenting (beta testing) with a 'Verified Account' feature. We're working to establish authenticity with people who deal with impersonation or identity confusion on a regular basis. Accounts with a Verified are the real thing! What does it mean? With this feature, you can easily see which accounts we know are 'real' and authentic. That means we've been in contact with the person or entity the account is representing and verified that it is approved. (This does not mean we have verified who, exactly, is writing the tweets.) This also does not mean that accounts without the 'Verified Account' badge are fake. The vast majority of accounts on the system are not impersonators, and we don't have the ability to check 100% of them. For now, we've only verified a handful of accounts to help with cases of mistaken identity or impersonation. One thing you can do if we haven't verified an account you're wondering about is to check the official web site of the person and see if there's a link back to their Twitter profile. (Again, lack of a link does not imply impersonation, either.)Who has a 'Verified Account' badge? We're starting with well-known accounts that have had problems with impersonation or identity confusion. (For example, well-known artists, athletes, actors, public officials, and public agencies). We may verify more accounts in the future, but because of the cost and time required, we're only testing this feature with a small set of folks for the time being. As the test progresses we may be able to expand this test to more accounts over the next several months.I deal with impersonation problems; will I be able to verify my account? Although we're not verifying all accounts, we'll try to work with you if your account is constantly competing with parody or impersonation accounts. Fill out this feedback form so that we know your situation. One thing you can do right away is to provide a link to your official website containing the Twitter badge or logo linking back to your profile. What about businesses? We're not testing this feature now with businesses. However, if you're interested in verification for your business, fill out this feedback form and let us know! How to identify a verified account * The 'Verified Account' badge will appear in the top-right portion of a user's profile page just above the name, location and bio—as shown in the screenshot above. * It will always have a badge followed by the words 'Verified Account' * If the verified account badge appears anywhere else on a user's profile page (e.g. in the avatar or the background) it is not a verified account * The verified account badge will also appear next to usernames in the Find People section * The verified account badge will have the same color as shown above even if users customize the background of their profile page or change the color in the sidebar * See what a verified account looks like! smash Posted September 8, 2009 at 08:58 PM Posted September 8, 2009 at 08:58 PM Good grief Darren, that is one hell of an experience. I would have freaked out. I can just imagine how you felt, and what you must have been thinking. She is so down to earth and normal, it could well have been her. She likes to do normal things now and again. Smash Quote
mawuar Posted August 19, 2010 at 10:33 PM Posted August 19, 2010 at 10:33 PM Hi guys! I was on twitter earlier today and there is a section named "who to follow" and it's always the same people..but today I saw that one of the people they were telling me to follow was Rene Angelil! did you know that Rene has a twitter account or is it just a poser? because it's not a verified account, but is the only one with that name..so I really don't know what to think...he has 1445 followers and he has only tweeted once ("On le dit souvent, le hockey est le sport canadien par excellence. Et l'équipe des Canadiens représente bien cela. Go Habs Go!!!") what do you think? (I'm sorry for my english) Quote
celine-rc Posted August 19, 2010 at 11:25 PM Posted August 19, 2010 at 11:25 PM I saw that yesterday. I think it's fake because there was another thing at his birthday where he was thanking us for the birthday wishes. I highly doubt it's him. As much as I doubt that Céline will ever get on twitter. I don't get the point of twitter either. I follow a few people even though I don't have an account. But, back to Céline and twitter, on one side I'm thinking it's impossible, but on the other hand, her friend Julie was not involved in any social network until a few months ago and she loves twitter (I love her tweets, Julie, Stéphane Laporte and Annie Horth!) Céline might want to join too. I don't think it would be safe though. She's an international start, god knows what could happen. Julie is only known in Québec. Plus, I don't think Céline really wants to or has time to text. Quote http://images.lpcdn.ca/435x290/201103/17/305341.jpg Merci Céline pour ces deux soirées inoubliables que j'ai passées à tes côtés. Je ne les oublierais jamais. J't'adore Céline. Merci. <3
