Sudbury woman meets Celine

It was the trip of a lifetime for Cathy Doucette.

Last week, the 30-year-old Sudbury woman got the chance to meet singer Celine Dion in Las Vegas.

 

Family and friends had fundraised to send Cathy, who has terminal pancreatic cancer and her husband, Steve, to see Dion’s stage show.

 

When Sudbury Wolves coach and general manager Mike Foligno heard the story, he used his connections to arrange a meeting with the singer. “It was great. She’s a really humble person. It’s like you’re talking to an old friend with her. She makes you feel at ease,” says Doucette.

 

The concert at Caesar’s Palace was phenomenal, she says. The woman was impressed by all of the props and costumes used during the show. But

the best part was when Dion sang the Titanic anthem My Heart Will Go On, she says.

 

Besides going to the concert, the couple also toured Las Vegas and looked inside several casinos. “This was the second biggest thing after our wedding. We’ll never forget this for the rest of our lives. It’s really touched us to meet her and to be able to go see her concert,” says Doucette.

This dress Celine is wearing os the same one that she was wearing when she met that canadian singer that fell down singing the canadian or american whatever anthem. Hehehehe You see, Celine repeats her dresses LOL

 

So nice of her! I wouldn't expect anything different from her. But I wanna meet her too!!! LOL

Things like this are what really make me appreciate Celine as a person. She does not have to meet all of these people but she takes the time to meet children, fans and fans like this one who have severe health problems. She could easily just do her shows and go home every night. Alot of times she meets people right before going on stage, not an hour before but maybe fifteen minutes before showtime! One member on this site mentioned that is what happened when they met her.

 

If I was ever to meet her before a show I'd probably say "Hey, don't you have to be on stage soon?!"

So true, Celine doesn't need to do this. Her job is to sing in her concert.

yea it is awful nice of her most celebs wont meet fans i wish i could meet her one day but i know i wont ever have the money by the time i get it she will be out of vegas and it wont be worth seeing her anywhere else if she does do anymore tours after vegas i doubt she will if she does it will be quite a few years before she tours again.
