Taking Chances Session DVD

Is there a Sessions DVD that contains "My Love" , "The Reason I Go On", and the other songs from the Taking Chances CD? If not, where did the Youtube videos of these sessions come from and how do I get them?

a dvd can only be found in Japan! it's part of the "ultimate box" which was released in febr. 2008 in that country:

Yes there is. The official dvd was part of the big TC boxset released in Asia. There's also copies floating round ebay etc.

There was also Wal*Mart exclusive DVD called "The Sessions" which included some of them. EOM, Alone, ASFY, TJTWIM, SS and AWTBI (That may not be correct, I'm going from memory here)

Actually all the sessions were filmed. Then it was edited in several EPK's released for the taking chances promotion (UK websites, Amazon, promotional DVD's for supermarkets, Sony show rooms, finish television...)...and unfortunately dubbed most of the time.

 

The most complete one is available on the Japanese Ultimate Box DVD. It's basically made of 2 EPK's one after the other, hence there are weird parts repeating themselves. It lacks the song There comes a time (let me be your soldier).

 

There was the exclusive Walmart edition which had one of the EPK included on the ultimate box.

 

Then there's There comes a time session, released on Team celine exclusive content and sony music online plateform of streaming promotional videos.

Ahh that's cleared it up then. YES why the heck do they DUBB!? We want to hear Celine's voice raw and edgy! It's funny though because only some they dubbed like eyes on me and Alone ( I think - and maybe others, but those two stick in my head). I really really would love to see/hear the FULL recordings, ''live'' of all the TC songs.....

 

I really wish ''they'' would put them all onto a dvd I can keep dreaming....

I haven't seen the final DVD but some of the performances I saw here on the forum were her real voice e.g. Map To My Heart, Eyes On Me but often they show you the real recording but play you the finished CD version over the top. It's so annoying! I much prefer it when we hear the mistakes and stuff of the real sessions.

 

Sometimes Celine even pretends to be recording it when really she already recorded it a while ago, like the SSD recording session where she was just pretending they were recording. She just stood infront of a microphone and they filmed her for the ACDS DVD. Or the HYEBIL session, this was another one made after the real thing. I think a good way to tell is that Celine usually dresses down and wears no makeup when she is actually recording something (e.g. LTAL sessions) but wears makeup and looks styled (e.g. SSD sessions) when it's not real.

If she had recorded such songs, we would know! Even sony looks like it has never heard about those songs, or they wouldn't release ballad with crappy remix to make her sound hot for clubs, they would promote her with those catchy songs, or would they?

Dubbed, undubbed, lipsynced or unlipsynced, I don't care. I know it's Celine's voice. As long as she hasn't pulled a Milli Vanilli on us I can live with it because bottom line is she had to sing something before they could do any of the other stuff. I just like Celine and if technology helps her to feel better about what's presented to me as a fan, I am (as my students would say "gucci" meaning (I'm good with it)). I don't feel jipped or in any other way cheated because when she performs live, she performs beyond my expectation. WHen she lip-syncs, well let's just say, she's just a darned good actress, because I can never tell. I leave the "Celine" experience completely satisfied. with what she has given.

Take the EOM recording session, we saw her playing with a really long note, it didn't even make it into the final song but we heard her trying it and it was good. We got to see how the song could have been, we would never have known they planned a really long note in the song without that session, which is why I love it when they show us the real one and not a fake one. It's still Celine's voice in the end like you say but it's how they got to the end that's the interesting part for us once we've heard a song and grown to love it.

I couldn't agree more. When I watch to a making of video, I don't want it to be only a dubbed video. I want to watch the process that gave life to the song.

I hate dubbed vídeos from recording sessions... It makes the video lost its magic... the interesting thing is to hear how she got to that point, how the music was being worked, what Céline did that they didn't put in the final song....

I LOVE recording sesions... that one from On Ne Change Pas where she was recording 1 Fille & 4 Typpes, she was singing Rien N'Est Vraiment Fini and it was juts amazing to hear her voice, so strong.... It seems like a live version... It's different and MUCH BETTER!
