Rene in hospital?

Rene Angelil, the much-older husband of Canadian songbird Celine Dion, is in an undisclosed hospital, possibly in South Florida, to recover from a medical procedure reportedly related to a heart ailment.

 

 

A source close to the family tells Page2Live that the 67-year-old music impresario’s condition didn’t put his life in immediate danger.

 

Still, it could be several days until he is released.

 

“We heard he’s got some kind of arterial blockage,” the source said. “The prognosis is good. He could be out within two days but he could also be kept in for a week.”

 

Angelil’s brother-in-law, Jupiter resident Alain Sylvestre, declined comment.

 

“I can’t talk about that right now,” he said. "I'm under strict orders."

 

And the 41-year-old Dion’s L.A. publicist, Kim Jakworth, said she hasn’t been told of any problem involving Angelil.

 

“I’m checking into it but I haven’t heard back from Celine’s people,” Jakworth said. “It must’ve been a quick in-and-out thing because they usually tell me.”

 

It seems that heart trouble has been plaguing Angelil for a while. He said in past interviews that he suffered a near-fatal heart attack at 50.

 

As they wait for their home on Jupiter Island to be finished, Dion -- whose signature tune is My Heat Will Go On -- and Angelil have been living on-and-off at The Bears Club, golfer Jack Nicklaus’ development in Jupiter.

 

The lovebirds, it seems, like to have their medical procedures done in this area. When he was diagnosed with throat cancer in 1999, it’s in South Florida that Angelil sought treatment. And when Dion tried to get pregnant, doctors in Palm Beach County took care of that business.

 

A poker virtuoso and inveterate gambler, Angelil just published The Art of Winning, an autobiography.

Celine Dion's husband Rene Angelil is back at home following an undisclosed medical procedure, RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively. The Palm Beach Post had written that the 67-year-old businessman was in the hospital due to his pre-existing heart ailments.

 

"Mr. Angelil was in the hospital for a procedure which had been planned for months....not heart surgery. Today, he's back at home," his spokeswoman Kim Jakworth said. Angelil was kept at the hospital overnight.

 

The couple has been staying at Jack Nicklaus' The Bear Club on Jupiter Island while building a new mansion nearby.

I don't know much about the websites releasing the information but it seems that his stay was nothing too serious. If it were, I'm sure it would have been on television somewhere (as they do with most celebrities). I'm glad that he is ok and I pray that he remains in good health. Maybe it was just an outpatient test thing. My dad has had heart problems and sometimes you have to do that kind of "maintenance" just to make sure everything is still okay. Praying for their health, though, praying for everyone's health (including all of you lovelies!)

they meant that she delivered in florida....they have had most of their procedures done in Florida.

It doesn't sound like a lot of reliable information, it was probably just a test or simple procedure that was blown out of proportion. Being that it was planned months in advance, it wouldn't have been urgent in any way. Having said that, whatever he was there for, I wish him well - and soon!
