Belle Céline Posted April 29, 2009 at 03:08 AM Posted April 29, 2009 at 03:08 AM (edited) Sarah Jessica Parker and husband Matthew Broderick are expecting twin daughters via surrogate mother. The couple is "overjoyed" to be expecting two healthy baby girls later this summer, a rep for the couple said in a statement to E! News. Congrats to the happy couple!!! The 44-year-old Sex and the City star and Matthew, 47, also have son James Wilkie, 6. A friend of the couple tells EW that the couple has been trying to have more kids for years and this was the "best alternative for expanding their family." I am beyond excited for SJP and Matthew! I bet James Wilkie is soo excited to be a big brother! She's not a baby person, she has said so on the show and Big doesn't seem like the father type either.... unless its an accident and she decides to keep it then I don't see any 's in the future for Carrie and Big. Jacqui Posted April 29, 2009 at 12:57 PM Posted April 29, 2009 at 12:57 PM Wow congrats to them! It's awesome how they can help people have babies using science...but, my first thought was how strange it might feel to have someone else carry your child... not sure I'd feel ok with it....but if they do, that's great! Belle Céline Posted April 29, 2009 at 03:20 PM Author Posted April 29, 2009 at 03:20 PM (edited) It hasn't really been talked about but I think SJP has some fertility issues, they are using a surrogate and with Sarah's age it may have been their only option. Because after 35 doctors don't recommend having a child because of the many health risks, and birth defects that can happen. So a surrogate really is the best option for most women over 35 unless your doctor would say that it's okay to have the baby yourself. I really don't know what specific reason's SJP and Matthew are using a surrogate and the best I can do is guess because of her age. Belle Céline Posted April 30, 2009 at 12:46 AM Author Posted April 30, 2009 at 12:46 AM Nope sorry Matias. Those were just ugly tabloid rumors that they make up to sell more magazine's. SJP and Matthew have one of the best marriages among celeb marriages Sarah Jessica Parker's marriage to Matthew Broderick is doing just fine (according to the actress, of course). Following reports of a marital rift along with months of stepping out separately, the couple hit the opening night of The American Plan on Broadway last night. "We don't even bother to address them," SJP said of the split rumors. But when asked what the best part of being married was, all she offered was "being married." Belle Céline Posted April 30, 2009 at 06:17 PM Author Posted April 30, 2009 at 06:17 PM here's a nice article where Sarah talks a bit about the babies. Now that Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick are expanding their brood with surrogate twin girls, the actress is even more worried about how to juggle her job and her family. Parker is filming "Did You Hear About the Morgans?" with Hugh Grant on the upper East side, while Broderick has been busy with Broadway's "The Philanthropist." "It's been a complicated past few weeks," Parker told us at "The Philanthropist" premiere. "My main concern is that my husband and son [James Wilkie, now 6 years old] have enough time. I've felt very conflicted over the last few weeks. "Hopefully, our son is feeling loved and taken care of. I can't really complain because it's my choice to work, but that doesn't mean I don't spend a better part of the day worrying about whether my family is getting enough [time] from me." Now, with a double blessing set to arrive this summer, there will be even less of her to go around. "Any complications or any anxiety I feel is normal," Parker said. "Any mother who wants to continue to work and have a career outside the home goes through this, so I feel very much a part of the sisterhood." Parker's work schedule will certainly have her tied up over the coming months. Aside from "What About the Morgans?" she's in talks to appear in two more feature films, in addition to producing a new Bravo project, "American Artist" — a "Project Runway"-style show centered on the art world. She'll also start the much-anticipated sequel to "Sex and the City" this summer. Broderick, meanwhile, has no films on the horizon. His next role may just be stay-at-home dad, which wouldn't bother James Wilkie at all. "Once, when I got home [from rehearsal] at two in the morning, James came downstairs," Broderick told us. "I said, 'What are you doing up?' He just said, 'I want to see what the heck is happening!'" As for all those reviewers who skewered Broderick for his turn in "The Philanthropist," well, James begs to differ. "He came to see Matthew during the day of the first previews," Parker said. "And he came home and told me, 'Papa knew his lines' and that he was 'dashing.' And that Matthew's accent was very good." Belle Céline Posted June 29, 2009 at 10:42 PM Author Posted June 29, 2009 at 10:42 PM (edited) It has been confirmed by People magazine the twins are at home in NY with Sarah and Matthew and big brother James Wilkie. Sarah Jessica Parker, Matthew Broderick Leave Hospital with TwinsBy Natasha Stoynoff and Emily Strohm Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick checked out of East Ohio Regional Hospital with their newborn daughters on Thursday, hospital spokesperson Maggie Espina confirms to PEOPLE. "Yes, they are gone," says Espina. According to a hospital employee, a maroon SUV and a white van were seen leaving the hospital around 11 a.m. escorted by numerous police cars with New York license plates. A hospital security guard told the employee "the babies left in that white van." During their stay at the hospital, Parker, Broderick, their surrogate and daughters, Marion and Tabitha, were allowed lots of privacy – even from curious hospital workers. "It's really private up there," the employee tells PEOPLE. "They've been using the service elevator [to move around.]" Security was so tight on the second floor, where maternity ward is housed, that even the patients were in the dark. One woman whose daughter had a baby around the same time as the Hollywood couple's surrogate gave birth said: "Up on the floor everybody had to keep their doors shut. All the patients had to keep their doors shut." On Thursday, several reporters as well as dozens of excited employees dressed in scrubs, waited outside the hospital doors with cameras and cell phones to try to get a sighting of the new family – without success. "Even the nurses are trying to get a glimpse" said one passerby who was visiting someone at the hospital. "The nurses are trying to get a peek, but even they cant." Added one local Martin Ferry, Ohio resident: "We've never had anything this Hollywood!" Though they didn't get to see the Sex and the City star, some local construction workers made a sign that they positioned outside the hospital referencing her famous HBO character. It reads: "Nice shoes Carrie, Congratulations!"
