As much as I'm happy for Céline that she was selected, am I the only one that finds all of these Canadian "TOP" lists with her in them a bit unsurprising? She is from Canada, after all. It would be like Cuba doing a "Most Influential" list and finding out Fidel Castro was on it, or Orange County, CA doing a "Most Important Businesses" list and finding out Disney/The Disneyland Resort is on the list. Not very surprising.

 

Don't get me wrong I am happy for her, but once she starts showing up in other magazines around the world in countries such as the United States, Australia, United Kingdom, Japan, etc. as "Most Inspirational Woman" then I'll start doing the happy dance. Right now it all seems rather underwhelming.

I think it's great Celine is at the top of the list. Don't worry... It's not because she's from Canada that she tops the list. She is indeed inspirational!!! There is also Celine bashing in Canada. So don't think that because she's Canadian that she automatically gets on the list! There are many other women in Canada: Alanis, Shania, Sarah, Loreena, Joni, etc.

 

I think Hello Canada has realised that having Celine on their cover actually sells A LOT of mags...

I saw one today, but didn't buy it (last copy left, wasn't in very good condition). I'll try and find more tomorrow and scan it.

 

It is only a 2-page spread, one is the same photo as on the cover but full page, and then there's another photo on the facing page, with about 1/4 page of text.
